These threads went to shit when people started meme picking stages and rule sets would keep getting flopped then it died
I attempted to revive /v/kend off a centralized rule set that most everyone agreed on before they died and it was successful but lacking in numbers. This is when it first started to get shit with name/tripsfags showing up and people sperging out over it.
/v/kend caught its former traffic and numbers again once Cloud dropped and we started doing teams that was the first tourny since we started that capped out at 100.
But sadly with all those numbers brought a ton of gigs faggots more namefags and a TON of circlejerking over players. People joining matches with the purpose of shitting it up rather than actually participating
If you want to save /v/kend it needs to die again and cone back in a month. I remember when our only issues were Wario Memers bike spamming

1-. In teams, rarely two players go for one player at the same time, not even when he's the only one left since that is exactly what the other player wants, for his enemy to hit his team mate, a much better strategy that you will see in every game where the players aren't complete shit (unlike you) is methodically approaching the opponent individually, grabbing, throwing him to the other player and then keeping him between both players, while the sole player left will have to keep near the edge at all times and avoid putting himself in a position where he is between the two opposing players, basically trying to avoid getting pinballed. Playing FFA? Who cares just spam smash attacks!
2-. Having to worry about a team mate is EXACTLY why it's less chaotic than FFA, because you can't just throw random attacks freely, you have to watch what you are doing and so does everyone else in the game, making the fights usually two 1vs1s going at the same time in separate parts of the stage.
3-. In ffa you don't have to worry about anything but yourself, meaning you can just randomly throw attacks and camp somewhere where the action isn't happening, while if you do that in teams your team mate gets bodied. There is literally nothing good in FFA, the attacks have no thought put into them because you can throw random shit and another player will probably run into it by accident, it encourages and supports camping, and the matches are usually not decided by skill but by who cant keep his head low the better.
