I exclusively rolled with Dogmeat, but then I accidentally took on that Mayor for a companion and sent Dogmeat back to Sanctuary. Now I can't find Dogmeat and I've been soloing the wasteland.

Dogmeat likes to sit in doghouses and never move from them if there is any in the settlement he is in and sanctuary has quite a few so go around checking the backyards of the houses and looking inside every doghouse you see
