Yeah, there were a lot of alternate costumes you could unlock by beating the game, completing challenges and collecting comic books (which by the way were an excelent gateway into Spider-Man knowledge). They were all taken from Spidey's extensive history and most of them had their unique perks.
There really was a lot of content. They even had a dumb What If mode that was only accessible through a password.
