I noticed a difference. Not so much in games really, but with a lot of stuff. No regrets here, apart from buying one with such a small capacity
>>

Did you install it?
Did you put your OS on it?
>>
>>334362202
SSD are mostly effective in the general operations of the OS, games are barely affected because you're working off RAM anyways.
At best you'll notice better load times.

Idiot
>>
>>334362202
I have a ssd in my ps3. It mostly halved the loading times.
>Tekken tag 2 was unplayable for me before, now even customizing clothes is torable.
>demons souls loading screens went from 30 seconds to 13-15 seconds

I read that the ps4 won't improve noticeably with a ssd, due to the OS and anti piracy software running in the background
>>
>>334363464
I think you and I have a very different definition of the word performance, especially if talking about games.

5-10 seconds shaved off of load times doesn't mean shit if you don't have the space to put the games on there, and that kinda space costs money.
>>
>>334362202
That's nor what an ssd does. You're looking to reduce load times and boot times. It only affects games with a lot of texture streaming (some mmos, diablo 3).
>>
>>334363490
That's because the disc drive inside the early models is crap and the base HD that came with the PS3 was an outdated 5200rpm model.

>>
>>334363751
So you have 80GB remaining and you're not using for games because what?
>>
>>334363751

>>

>>
>>334363792
Because 80GB is definitely enough space for all the games and programs I want to store. GTA5 alone is like, what, 60GB?

>>334363839
For my needs, all I need the SSD for is the OS. Spending money on a higher capacity SSD would be a waste of money, and the small benefits are overall not worth it for me.
>>
>>334362202
You're wrong
>>
>>334363601
Yes.
The ps3 actually has SATA 1.5, if that makes any sense.
I have a superslim model, with a loud disc drive and a loud fan. With the ssd the ps3 is in games as quiet as in idle.
Plus the fast loading times. I can recommend it.
Though the data migration may be a hassle for some.
>>
>>334363490
it's basically OS capability/restrictions. Your best best is buying a 2TB 7200 HDD.

For the most part yeah but some games truly did run better for me on an SSD. I'm not too literate on that shit but maybe some shit to do with texture streaming?

I know when I installed Archeage (shit game) on an SSD the difference was fucking phenomenal. Game stuttered more than a retarded kid with a head injury beforehand on my HDD.
>>
>>334365583
So you won't feel a difference apart from the difference you feel.
>>
>>334362202
Buy a 120GB SSD.

Install your OS and any open-world games.

Worth it.
>>
It serves the same function as a hard drive, but with much faster read/write speeds, lower power consumption and a longer life span.

If you expected anything else, you didn't get tricked or memed, you're just retarded.

The only effect it will have on games is load times.

Just put an Intel 535 in my 2nd laptop. It made my previous laptop infinitely better and it definitely let my current one run the way it was meant to. They work wonders on laptops no matter what, which has made me come to the conclusion that almost every laptop is shit without one.

As for my desktop, it didn't make too much of a difference aside from boot and load times to a small extent. Still, they're very well worth it, more-so if you're wanting to cram it into a laptop.

It makes a large difference in games that have to load a lot of loose files.

I can start my computer up and be browsing the web in less than 20 seconds.

Games like KSP start instantly instead of waiting for minutes for the files to load.

Fallout 4 with a few mods, I can be in the game in under 30 seconds.

It's a large difference in terms of loading time. In terms of FPS? It eliminates stutter when transitioning through areas.

You don't really buy an SSD for FPS though.

That feeling the first time you boot up Windows on an SSD. It's the best feeling I've had in a while.

Now I can turn off my computer without having to wait forever for it to boot back on. It's almost like it's just in sleep mode.

It's useful for games with few to no loading screens like gta 5, dark souls games, etc.
