some straight to the point idea of what to do and how
I dont want to spend 2 hours of reading
just knowing basic so I can get him going
Punch trees, get wood. Open inventory, put 4 wood in square, get crafting table. Put table down, right click for my crafting. Two wood, one on top of the other, get sticks. Two sticks, three wood on top to make a pick. Use pick to mine stone, make a stone pick, repeat with better materials

do as the guy said, then either dig a hole in a mountainside or build a house if you have lots of stone/dirt/wood. Then dig a tiny whole and get deeper and deeper. Find iron, smelt iron with furnace .

Minecraft removes the capacity for imagination that physical toys provide. I love games and gaming, but wouldn't compare LEGO and Minecraft since they are two different things. You can put together rag-tag bits of whatever LEGO and make anything in your wildest dreams by stitching it together with your own thoughts, Minecraft and gaming in general takes that away.
