Let's talk about a genre we usually don't, the Point n Click.

What's the best one?

day of the tentacle is up there. but i'd argue for grim fandango as well

Hello only other Point and Click fan on /v/.

It's hard to pinpoint a best one because of how subjective the genre is. I will say however, that the modern Daedalic releases have the best control scheme, they've gotten it down to an art.

I just recently finished Anna's Quest and it was pretty good, bit short, but I liked it, gave me flashbacks of playing King's Quest back in the day.

Fandango ain't a point n click m8

Should I get the remasters of both?

Hated grim fandango. If anyone posts anything than this motherfucker right here they are wrong

if you like the genre, then yes. even if you didn't play them back then. day of the tentacle does have a few puzzles that are like "well how the fuck was i supposed to know that?" but it's still really fun.

Day of the Tentacle has new music and the classic mode is there, the new graphics look like cheap vectorization.

Grim is just an upscale with built in point and click controls, they didn't put in a lot of work and didn't re-render the backgrounds.

I'd say don't spend more than $5 on each.

Gabriel Knight series.

Even Gabriel Knight 2, which was one of those 90s FMV games everyone loves to shit on, was actually kind of decent.

Honestly, apart from the King's Quest and Police Quest games, all the Sierra adventure games are gold and the only reason they ever got a bad name is because LucasArts fan boys can't handle losing. Grown adults whinging about how all the Sierra games were bullshit hard and had unreasonable puzzles, I beat them all as a fucking child.

The old Indiana Jones games. I liked how Secret of Atlantis had multiple paths through the game, but I do prefer Last Crusade despite it being a bastardly hard game unless you know exactly what you're doing.
>>
I didn't play them back in the day and am trying to have the patience to play them. Plus there are the nuveau point and click games.

Dreamfall is cool and only had one total bullshit puzzle so far.

Republique would be better if they didn't use a robo voice for the narrator guy.

I really want to play Syberia 1 and 2 before 3 comes out. Probably no rush tho.
