because the GBA ports all borrow heavily from the Wonderswan ports of 1, 2, and 4. Since the Wonderswan port of 3 was cancelled after the death of Gunpai Yokoi, they didn't bother to do it for the GBA and skipped straight to 5.

Brave blade is the strongest weapon in the game and the chicken knife is like the third strongest due to agility boost from it. You also get second chicken knife in the bonus cave so it would work well but not until you have the second one.

That's actually not completely so, also it's slower than FF9 (at least PSP port fixed it) and the low-poly 3D is fairly ugly, if charming in its own way.

In FF3's case it's true at least. The GBA versions are arguable, you have more content and better translations but worse visuals and sound, even with the sound restoration patches.

Man. The GBA sound chip is really awful. It makes everything sound like it's struggling to process, like the song is dying almost.

Some music on the gba is okay, but the majority of it sounds really bad.

I'm not saying the music itself is bad. I'm saying the sound quality and how it is processed is bad.

GBA music can sound good when it's an original song made with the soundchip in mind. The GBA Pokémon games I think are a great example (despite the trumpet hate meme).

The issue is just trying to port songs to the sound chip really reveals how dinky it is.

It's funny you mention pokemon. Emerald and Fire Red are the two games that made me go, "Man the gba sounds awful. This sounds so bad." Like last year.

The music in Fire Red, compared to the original, sounds awful seriously.

To add to my post, also years and years ago when my friend used to play Metroid Fusion a lot when he was visiting, I noticed that I started hating Fusion's sound track because of how bad the system processes sound. Like have you ever sat around someone who is playing Fusion? The music grates, the sound effects grate, the music has no flow at all and has constant hiccups.

Like the trumpet solo in the second half of the loop here has so much character to it which is why it's fucking bullshit that they replaced it with a string ensemble playing that part in ORAS It just sounds very strong to me, and I think RSE has a number of powerful tracks like it.

I apologize but I don't really understand how you can think that.

It just seems like a weird thing to say, to think the song is fine but think it's low-quality. In my opinion the composition of the song is directly tied to the sound chip, considering how the game's remake changes the instruments to completely different ones, which to me changes the tone of the song. Route 104 in RSE was compoased how it is specifically because of the soundchip they used.

You know what I think might be enamoring me to RSE's music more, actually, now that I think about it?

I ripped the MIDIs from the game, soundfont intact, and have been playing them from a MIDI player when I want to listen to one. I just checked an in-game rip of Sootopolis and compared it to my ripped MIDI and I noticed the quality is a lot clearer while retaining the instruments instead of changing them like ORAS. That might be it.

No all you need is 2-3 ppl using bard, 1 person using time magic and 1 mystic knight.
What you want to do is use the bards to cast the stop song, the time mage to haste everyone and the mystic knight bolt swording.
If you arent fast enough for his first attack equip everyone with fire absorbing equpment to survive his initial attack then its cheese city the rest of the way
