Not even close to it. In fact, I'd say its the worst the year it released.
Its quite literally just an overhyped game that came when no other RPG really existed on the 3DS and to this day, no developer really cares to. The only other game is SMT4, which is one of the few good games on the console.
When your competition is SRPGs and DRPGs, it's not like there is much in the way 3DS fans won't 'love' out of necessity considering how below par the console library has been.

If you think BD was the worst jrpg of that year you have absolute shit taste. The worst jrpg in 2012 was neptunia victory. BD is godly compared to that game. But if you're talking 3ds KH dream drop and heroes of ruin was way worse than BD. I'd sayEOIVis one of the best in the past 5 years if were talking 3ds.

They had some problems with the budget, so they had to recycle content. That's what everyone says at least.
Second has less loops(just one mandatory one and things actually go different way than the first time)but it's worse in every other way.
