Have you guys noticed this game seems like a mishmash of every souls/borne game? It's got the central hub disconnected from the rest of the game like demons souls, but all the areas are interconnected outside of it. It's linear at the start but gradually starts to split off almost without you noticing. The combat mechanics draw from several of the games and not just one of them. Lots of little things too. Some boss designs and areas feel ripped right from bb while others remind me of des and some like better versions of fights from ds2 likedecons of the deep feeling like a better version of the rat spam fight.

I don't know man. Forest and swamp area have really fucking sapped the fun out of me right now. Seriously hoping the other areas are going to be much better. Not really liking how scarce upgrade materials are and how long it it takes to get on the upgrade path you want either. I want to try out all these weapons but I just can't waste the mats because they're not easy to come by.

I can't tell yet. Really not a lot of experience with it yet. I first loved dks2 pvp way more than dks1, then 2 just seemed shitter and 1 better. I do agree that I already thought it was gonna be the worst pvp, but I think we should give it time, especially since I've had some really exhilarating fights.
Not like it matters though, since I'm a challenge runner, so pve is what makes it for me!

Game is fucking linear as fuck, equipment scalings is shit, boss weapon is awful, small amount of new equipment, all these copy pasted armours/weapons, ganks squad bosses, shitty overhead camera (fuck the winged bastard in the sacrificial road), bosses are stunlock/parry baits, shitty unoptmized shit, crashes crashes everywhere, invasion are fucked (9 out of 10 is a fucking gank fest), online is a lot worse than DaS2 (matchmaking is fuckede up) and blatant, shameless fan-service.

I mostly ran joke builds in pvp and invaded in fun areas
painted world is by far the most fun area in all the souls games, so many places you can run around and so many ways to lose people chasing you
priscilla dagger + darkhand was my favorite combo in there
other then that I usually did forest invasions with four-pronged spear and shotel and sometimes cospvp as random enemies/npcs
really disappointed in DaS3 pvp so far, was really looking forward to it

Tbqh, I had to roll back my gpu drivers all the way back to 2013 to even get the game playable on my computer because of insane framerate drops.
Luckily it runs decently now after doing that, but I seriously think there's something wrong with Vram allocation or something in the game itself, which I hope they'll patch.

Not him but if you're at the very beginning I would. Or you could save it and find the Deep Axe which has dark infusion already. Elemental is superior early game. You're not going to have the stats nor the mats to really make a good weapon early on that would outclass elemental.
