My theory is given the conman's past, the team at Comcept probably didn't intend to actually make a game, just cancel one after getting money for nothing like they did before. This time the money made is out of people's pockets, free for the public to view and more or less donated. They probably made even more money than they expected, so much that if they cancel it nobody will invest in their company. The other kickstarters will never be fulfilled, those are clearly just bogus to make free money.

In general, the second of a given series is the best and each one after that is a gradual decline into mediocrity. Megaman 9 and Megaman 10 might be the only real exceptions but that was because of a huge gap from Megaman 8 so the timer reset.

The way it's described on the left could actually be legitimately cool, especially if they came up with an efficient way of switching between a lot of powers seamlessly. They could limit the number of powers you can collect from enemies but allow you to switch between them seamlessly creating a high skill ceiling of coming up with creative power combinations and switching between them rapidly for combinations of attacks/mobility options. It's really astonishing that they managed to make something as fucking bland as they did.
