A shitty port at that since it has slowdowns, a few music tracks got cut for no reason and they changed some sound effects also for no reason.
PC version (Rayman Forever) was also well known as shit since they cut cutscenes and music from that one.
The only good and non-butchered version of Rayman 1 is the PSX Original.

All of which were available originally separately.
They removed the cutscenes and the music to make space on disc for the designer and fanmade levels.

I had the Nintendo Power Advance issue that had a full Rayman guide inside. Worked fine for the PS1 version.
I love the Rayman Series but the original and 2 will always be my favourites.
I've played all the good ones and nothing quite beats this series
