At the end of the day, Games are about fun.
So what are some fun stories you have had in or surrounding a game?
With friends or alone, doesn't matter.

Garry's mod DarkRP a few years back with 2 friends
>start gun store and become popular on a big 80 slot server
>homeless guy starts showing up, very in character all the time
>talks about gun violence in a very professional voice
>spends actual hours outside our gunshop, preaching into his mic
>its hilarious, so we leave him alone
>we notice he went away one day, go outside to check
>posters on every building, the dude is running for mayor.
>despite our efforts, he gets elected
>immediatley bans all guns and orders our arrest
>we hold out for a while, shooting his officers as they try and arrest us
>splits server in two, Team Gunshop and Team Mayor
>the mayor wants the whole server to peacefully come to a rally so he can address the violence

>we get a bit overboard with the terrorist imagery and start playing arabic chants when we attack
>dumbass 12 year old (paid to be) admin bans 12 of us for 'being racist'
>never get unbanned for some reason
i logged in from a new a few weeks ago to see what the server was like now, big theres a plaque detacated to me and my revolt front and center on one of the most popular Gmod severs.

>I wait patiently for silhouettes of stahl helms and Mauser rifles
>take pot shots and slow german advance while laying in filth by some logs
They wised up and got me eventually. Fuck I love RO2. I really wish Tripwire weren't shit about patching it or making new maps.

>me and buddies are rolling around in our "Funvee"
>me and around 4 other Czech soldiers are sent to a small town while the American and Brit squads are sent to slightly larger town a few fields over from us
>shit's boring absolutely no enemies so we're just fucking around and trash talking each other

>Russian insurgent players running downhill towards the town taking pot shots at us
>they manage to break into the town and start taking buildings to fire at us from
>every now and again you hear the whistle of an RPG flying through the streets and impacting around us

>when it all goes quiet we're pretty low on ammo and medical supplies so we decide to regroup with the larger US/Brit force

RTS is war, no?
I won a gaming keyboard from a Warcraft III tournament. The last game was me making a peasant invisible and sending him in the middle of the enemy base. At the same time the other guy attacked my base, and I knew I cant beat him, since he won the last fight, and really he should have pushed his advantage faster and got scared of my 1-2 towers. Seeing him coming I teleported my whole army to the invisible guy in his base and we traded headquarters. I managed to kill a few support units with what was in my base, and in the end we had a final clash, which I won because I was less incompetent.
I was very happy to win, probably never felt happier. Honestly, not on my graduation, not when I got my first date, not when my girl told me she loved me, not ever.
I had my backpack with my dad's copy of Lord of the Rings in it stolen on that day too. Bummer, that.

>Corpsmen are trying to keep all of the wounded stable in one corner of the courtyard that's absolutely covered in blood and discarded medical equipment
>courtyard is pretty much taking fire from all sides now
>me and my buddy decide to circle around and try and get some rockets into the treeline
>we completely misjudge the distance of the treeline and both of our rockets fall short
>gunfire from the treeline we took our shots at stops for a few seconds
>hear a "sssssSSSSSSS" then a bang after an RPG slams us from the trees
>get knocked on my ass and start to black out
>somehow buddy never got taken out and he starts to carry me back to the courtyard
>for a couple of seconds that i'm conscious i hear gunfire then i get dropped onto the grass
>coming to without any medical equipment in ArmA can take a little while but i want to see the outcome of the battle so i just wait it out
>when i regain consciousness my bro is laying on the ground next to me
>no sound but the wind blowing and the birds chirping
>head to the church courtyard
>dead soldiers lying everywhere
>bunch of guys lying in the corner that the corpsmen were working on people in
>mfw no friendlies or enemies to be seen

That one day i got CC5
>have nothing but osttruppen and pre war french tanks and 8cm mortars to fight the landing forces

>fucking naval bombardment kills one of my R35s, an engineer squad and a machinegun pinning down the americans.
>only an Ost scout group, an R35 in reserve and three mortar teams remain.
>scouts holed up in a house with fire comming from at least three directions, their morale is so low they are in danger of being routed.
>spot an M4 moving thru the streets, move the R35 into an ambushing position to try and do something
>american engineers and rifle squads closing in on the house held by my scouts which by now have ran out of ammo
>open up with the mortars, the engineer squad is wiped out almost instantly
>scouts toss their grenades at the attacking rifle squads
>M4 comes around the corner and next to the house, fires a shot and pins down the scouts
>move the R-35 to distract it, gets a lucky shot and disables one of the M4's tracks
>what's left of the rifle squad enter the house and hand to hand fight breaks out
>"Pyotr goes berserk!"
>singlehandedly kills two americans which forces the other three surrended, runs up to the dead engineed squad (punching dead one of the surrendered riflemen on his way out), grabs the flamethrower from one of the dead engineers and burns the M4.

>the day was saved by an outdated light tank and a very pissed off russian.
Close Combat games were fucking awesome, I didnt even knew picking up weapons from the fallen was a thing in the series so i replayed the previous games after that.
BF3
>own a server, add a guy who frequents, hes really good
>apparently hes an actual veteran
>hes on one day, playing Op Firestorm
>him and a buddy are camped out on the massive hill next to my spawn
>me and my friend cant even leave spawn, hes way too good of a sniper and we dont have any vehicles.
>we wait until we can get jets
once in the jets we speed towards the hills out of the map
>his friend gets an RPG on my friends jet somehow he spirals into a hill and explodes
>i get damaged and lose control, pull up as hard as possible
>jump out of jet while super high up right before it explodes
>land on the hill and charge the two guys
>knife them both and reclaim the hill for our side
>spend hours defending a dumb hill from a few guys and ignore the actual game
> lose game by a fucking landslide
Way back when I used to play Planetside 2
>grab an ATV and start beelining solo towards a biolab fight
>on the way pass a Lightning
>oh shit he's hostile, duck behind a hill
>dude was apparently asleep at the wheel, since he never even took a second glance at me
>whatever
>arrive at the biolab, just to notice the enemy managed to take the entire ground level
>surrounded by hordes of enemies milling about
>fuck I'm too deep in this shit to back out anymore, wat do
>notice the barriers at the base of the tower are still friendly
>fuck it it's my last chance, just haul ass towards the barriers and expect to get blown to shit in three seconds flat
>somehow, NOBODY catches on to what's happening, all those VS shitters just roam about and stare at me like idiots
>what the shit I actually have a shot at this
>barreling down the final hill, the enemies finally start realizing I'm an enemy and start taking potshots at me
>I'm going to fucking make it, only 20 meters left
>start attracting a metric shitload of fire
>only a couple feet left
>I'm fucking doing this holy shit
>almost manage to pass the energy barrier, but a freak tank shell hits my rear tire and blows me up
Too bad the game is so flawed that I can't really stand it anymore

>have G3, taking single shots at attacking americans
>getting a fair few kills, repulsed a few enemy assaults

>Kills T-90 quick
>Immediately take out RPG and fire like mad at the M1, killing it
>We hold that area and win
It felt great. I like the feeling of taking a full on enemy assault, shame not enough games really do that well.

>mission is Supply and Demand, gotta fight our way to a plaza before loading 5 sacks of grain in our escape wagon
>rolling as Bright Witch, meaning I CAN kill it with fire
>reach the plaza, doing fine, killing rats and keeping the team alive, load two bags of grain in the wagon
>three bags left, two on the right wall and the third alone at the back of the plaza
>moving as a group, doing great, killing Packmasters (niggas with grabby sticks) and Assassins all day
>pubbie says 'I got the third sack, don't worry!' and runs off
>being alone is a BAD idea
>Horde starts coming in while we're in the middle of the plaza, me and dwarf bro back to back killing rats all day. I'm exploding swathes of shitty rat scum while my heat rises dangerously high
>pubbie grabs sack of grain, refuses to do the smart thing and kill the 9001+ rats attacking him and his ally
>Rat Ogre roars its greeting, starts charging into the the plaza

cant write anymore what game am i talking about?
when i actually got enough balls to visit vidya friends for a week of playing together. we ended up smoking a lot, having fun in arena and generally fucking around, playing random games. met up with a bunch of their friends on two days. was fun as shit but one of the two stopped playing videogames completely and the other stopped taking drugs so there's no chance of that ever happening again.
i could name a lot of other minor things but a couple days ago i realised that just talking about my experiences wont help my depression so im just wasting my time here. i just want to have those experiences again but i cant find friends anymore and taking drugs alone just doesnt cut it
Playing MWO with Kong Security Services
>rolling in based Catapult with 4LL, solid heavy mech choice, just gotta keep muh heat under control

>playing the shitty city map at night, clustered around a water way so people can maneuver without getting lit up by LRMs and PPCs, as was also standard back in the day
>relatively new mechjockey, so not in fact the avatar of killing prowess you might expect
>follow instructions of Warboss, focus targets, we're doing alright
>enemy team is also doing alright, starts picking off our more experienced members
>fucking light mech Raven starts running around PEWPEWing our legs doing minimal damage but maximum annoyance
>levels of noobrage take over, I start trying to chase down much faster light mech into water
>leave main battlegroup, which gets annihilated
>pop Raven with a hell of a shot from long range, putting lasers to good use, feeling like maybe we might win this battle
>Raven was also leading me towards its teammates
>notice teammates are annihilated

>enemy Atlas in water, big assault mfer. armored, packs a punch, just can't turn very well
>somehow stay just ahead of it's weapons as I sprint around it at maximum FAST, FINALLY fucking core it because I don't have to worry about ammo and am just putting shots down range
>enemy Catapult shows up across riverbank just as I kill atlas, starts peppering me with fire
>torso twisting like a motherfucker, so as to let enemy fire hit my side torso and not the center torso where I am

Fall of the Samurai
>running a full modern army dropped off at jozai to flank the alginate and sneak cap edo
>run into 5 full stacks of shogun scum
>it's 6k vs 20k
>arrange my forces into ranks on a forested hill
>the artillery opens up and I call in a naval bombardment
>nips are dying by the hundreds
>but it isn't enough and they zerg into the range of my rifles
>barely blunt the first wave, but the second is got behind them and the first ranks are stuck in
>riflemen can't fight samurai in CC
>SECOND RANK, FIRE!
>kill hundreds on both sides by firing point blank into the melee
>both lines rout and the second line becomes the first and the third becomes the second
>now the elite shogun troops come in. 10 units of shogitai
>now them down, but shogitai don't break
>they charge and even severely reduced murder a large portion of the front line
>my boys start to waver and I know where it's going
>the last rank takes aim
>and murders their fellows then follow up with a bayonet charge
There's 2 enemy waves left and I'm down to about 1k infantry and 9 Armstrong guns running out of ammo
>the last waves start to swamp my troops and deep inside I know the battle is lost
>as the last of my units begin to rout I call in my last naval bombardment on my own position
>watch the shells roll in and devastate the hill
>23k dead over all but it's a total loss for me

>we take on waves of the other team, they aren't making any progress
>tanks start coming over the ridge
>my whole team bails out of the town and into the mountains
>I stay behind with my rifle
>run out and set charges on the airstrip
>run back up to my radio tower
>watch and wait as the tanks and infantry flood into the town
>blow their asses away and finish off the infantry with my rifle
>hop in a motorcycle and drive off to find my team before the enemy respawns
