Nick is just a worse-written version of the cynic character of Francis. His backstory seems pretty great, but he doesn't have as many memorable lines as the characters from l4d.
Coach is pretty fucking bland overall.

Ellis is alright, but not great, and easily beaten by anyone in L4D1.

The problem with Rochelle, in my opinion, is that she can't be cast into simple archetypes like the other characters. Everyone else can be summed in a single word or short phrase. You can tell it to someone who has never played L4D and they'd have a good idea about the character.
Bill is the Vietnam vet, Francis is the biker, Zoey is the college coed, Louis is the naive optomist. Nick is the con man, Ellis is the redneck and Coach is a high school football coach.
Rochelle doesn't have anything like that. She's a black female but she's not that black. She doesn't have any especially prominent personality traits. She works as a journalist but rarely mentions it.
