Hey, /v/, after getting a nostalgia trip to the good old days of Sea Dogs I've started longing for a nice ship-sailing video game.
How many of these are available right now? I've only seen Naval Action on steam, but it's early access and I'm not sure I can trust the developers.

I bought naval action and so far i can't complain about the devs, they've shown that they listen to the community and have been releasing patches regularly.
However the game is still a bit barebones but its pretty comfy to sail about the caribbean

You only pay it once, and its got a breddy good player driven trade system. I mean it sucks if you get run down in a traders brig while hauling 120k worth of hemp but then you pop out in your own frigate or what have you and start blasting fools

I think the sailing just needed a tiny bit more depth to it and it would've been perfect.

Actually you control the main masts with your QE ZC keys in order to tack correctly, and T to depower your front boom sails. Can make some hella sharp turns by playing the wind. You can also go into irons and go into reverse by squaring the sails and have the wind push you
There is that one game for the xbone that was teased at E3 last year where you play as individual crew members on a pirate ship. No idea what happened to do though.

Kekked hard. Its kind of rng for fire. Theres also satisfying moments like catchinf a single 3rd rate while screening with other 5th and 4th rate and taking his sails down to 0%, demasting, and just hammering him to farm xp and gold
