Synthpop is one of those things that existed in a certain timeframe because of the context surrounding it. More often than not that new shit just isn't good because it's made in a looking backwards/nostalgia fashion rather than looking forward like in the 80s and with the advent of easily accessible synths to make music with.

That's 99% of all music, regardless of genre. It's very rare that someone comes along and changes the game. Then there's thousands of 'me toos' that copy them and either try to make it 1:1, or try to put their own slant on it.

Bought this on the Playstation Store for 2.50 dollars, I found it overrated. Game stops being interesting once you finish the two hour campaign and capture all the garrisons, the mechanics are also somehow simpler than the ones in Far Cry 3.

Even cheesy practical effects generally look better than middling CGI that looks fake as fuck. And even the best CGI a lot of the time will obviously look like CGI whereas practical effects are "real" even if they're cheesy.

Most CGI that is used for anything other than small things is bad CGI though. Even with all the hardware they use to make movie CGI and whatever potential it may have it still looks fake most of the time. And it's even worse if it's cheap CGI. CGI is best when it's used subtly, but when you have entire characters made out of CGI on screen for long periods of time that's when it starts getting shit and we're at the point where pretty much every movie does this shit and with few exceptions it looks bad.
Because game developers literally hate fun.
