ZSNES is incapable of getting Chrono Trigger's sounds right. No, the cursor sound is not supposed to sound different each time you move it, and Lavos is not supposed to sound like that.

I'm using ZSNES againfor some reason, Snes9x won't allow me to press a diagonal direction on my Xbone controller. I tried Street Fighter 2 and I can make my character walk forward or jump directly up, but he won't jump-forward

ePSXe and PCSX-R both have graphical glitches/sound on a lot of some no matter what the hell you do to the settings. What games it happens to is different between the two systems. Mednafen from what I can tell just werks. The only "downside" is it's a bit less user friendly but I'm pretty sure you can run it through some frontend if you care about that.
