Already did, its bretty good. The challenge level feels just right, the enemies and bosses don't have any bullshit so every time you get wrecked it feels like your own fault, abilities are limited but all of them feel good and useful. Its unpolished as fuck though, PC controls suck ass, 30 fps lock, you constantly get stuck in nothing, level design is lackluster, some secret areas are telegraphed and some are just random hidden wall you couldn't find useless you're ready to hug every wall in every room. Its also short, first walkthrough took me 6h40m, and I died like million times

People generally feel that the east boss is the easiest, but to compensate that east got the hardest commons enemies.
>>
>>333760423
East and North areas are about the same level of challenge, East boss is easier but east monsters are harder to kill. Just make sure you have shot reflection or dash reflection before you go West
>>

You can go anywhere but south to start with, but that is THE hardest boss.

>"I believed the meme"

Though regarding the cut content, that sucks but technically it was stretchgoals only and the devs probably aren't very experience with game development so they cut shit out. Not saying it's right or excusable, but shit sucks sometimes. The game itself is still good but it'd be fantastic if it had the cut content in it.

You can collect money to buy every upgrade, find the monoliths to get some lore (literally 3 sentences so don't bother translating the text if you're interested) and a cape to give you +1 HP, find some hidden gear, and find keys unlocking the locked doors you can see. The more keys = the more doors you can open.
>>
>>333761203
Protip, spend your next three on the missile deflection, then your next 4 with i-frames for your blink. It makes the whole game much more fun. There are whole encounters that are designed assuming you have some way to deal with projectiles.

If you want the game to come out, you're willing to risk a small amount of money, and you dont think it will come out without your support, then yeah, there is a point. That, however, is a personal calculation thats different for everybody. Star Citizen is proof of that.

The drone that follows you around was supposed to have several functions, such as providing light and searching out hidden paths for you, and was claimed to be upgradeable and customisable.
One of the main items from the initial concept was the shield which isn't in the final game.

If you go look at the Kickstarter trailer again you'll see that almost nothing from that trailer is actually in the game.

Dodging his swipes without having the dash upgrade requires pretty tight timing if you actually wants to hit him and not simply wittle down his health over the course of three hours.

I don't get this, I am so put off by the soundtrack.

It's like you guys played a different game than me but from what I've heard it was a fucking mess of random deep techno noises, it's shit and I am not even a "soundtrack guy" but it bothered me.

As to OP:
>30 fps
>horrible input lag
all this in a game that's supposed to be fast paced = horrible gameplay.

This is a game that I will always remember as to why gameplay > anything.

The artstyle, soundtrack, graphics, story etc couldn't save it for it being a shit experience in my book.

As a side note, I feel that it's fanbase is also pure cancer and remind me a lot of undertale fags, as in, not accepting objective criticism and considering it literal perfection.
Maybe it's because they were kickstarter backers and more involved in the project or I don't know what other reason.
>>
I cannot fathom why the developers would force a PIXEL game into 30fps. What the fuck is the purpose?

Gamemaker Engine.
>>
>>333767074
try /vg/
>>
>>333766881
Game Maker defaults to 30 fps when you start a new project. Developers are usually too incompetent to notice and change it when they start their game, then they're too incompetent to code their game around delta time rather than frame counters so they can't change it later without halving or doubling all their time-related variables, so they go into defense mode and start lying that 30 fps was "a design choice."

If GM didn't default to 30 this would literally never happen, it's the only reason
>>
>>333766785
Different tastes, the soundtrack is just pure atmosphere I think and meant to instil mood and feelings rather than being a catchy tune. Also, Disasterpiece, who is behind it, is fairly famous and liked.

30 FPS is shit but I feel no input lag so it's either a bug or on your end I think. I haven't experienced at least.

The devs seems to be frequently patching though, a patch came yesterday and they're already working on the next one and is available as a beta patch, so they're clearly trying to at least fix things.

>"not accepting objective criticism"

This is /v/, 99% of any "Criticism" here is shitposting or hearsay, with the last remaining 1% being people with actually valid complaints that talk of bugs, 30 fps and other shit.

Most "Criticism" in these threads I have seen has been "4 hours!" or that the devs are SJW, like it matters even though the game itself has no hints of SJW retardness in it.

It's just weird for me because I execute the same dash combo with the same pace and it won't 100% of the time come out.

I would just call myself a casual skrub and say that I need to git gud, but it feels just odd and what had me wondering was the fact that others got that experience too.

It was really bad during the west challenge dungeon.

As for the soundtrack, I will say that it's not my thing, it's well... too "moody" but this "bit" style doesn't fit that. I could do much better with more clear melody for the mood.
>>
>>333766178
The combat's got a bit more to it, though it's not really necessary to do stuff like shot canceling or weapon swaps mid combo.

>>333768205
Dashing is .25s to .45s to enter chain dash (so dash 1-2), and gets slightly faster over the next 2 steps to stay at .2s to .3s after the 4th dash and onwards. I'd try setting up an AHK script and seeing if it works consistently, if it doesn't, your game is getting some sort of shit lag - if it does, your timing is off, or the lag is dependent on area. I can't write off lag since the devs are most definitely incompetent amateurs, but I do really like the game regardless.

Sample AHK script of what I mean (the push time is necessary)

There's a lot of pirated versions floating about, I'd say give it an hour, if you like it, sure go for it. Overall I can't really say it's worth the full $20 for most people, as most people probably aren't going to want to go through a second time and autistically explore every little thing. If it were on sale for like $5, I'd say it's a damn good buy for pretty much anyone though. It's a great game, there's just not a lot of the game part there.
>>
>>333768205
Yeah, the dash is a bit weird, I agree with that. The dash after the first one is timed a bit differently than the rest so you got to learn to get that timing down. It's not super hard or anything but it seems like a strange decision and I'm unsure why they did it. I guess they didn't want it to get too easy to dance around bosses?

I feel the 30 FPS thing is the game's biggest flaws. I personally still enjoy it but it's silly that an action game like that isn't 60 fps.

Anyway, I am curious about the input lag, I've seen a few mention it but I'm not sure how or what is causing it. Does it take like a short millisecond or even a second before any action is made? Just curious in case it's perhaps the weighted actions that people are confusing with input lag, but I assume it's a bug.

Like, a lot of actions in the game has "Weight"to it I think, in that you cannot perform another action until the animation is done.

There are a few exceptions though, you can reset the sword attack with a gunshot for example.

Anyway, hope you refunded it if it's not to your tastes, assuming you didn't pirate it of course.
>>
>>333768205
I can bring out infinite dash pretty regularly, it's a tight timing
