Star Wars shields aren't like Star Trek shields. Star Wars shields protect from either physical weapons (missiles, torpedoes, etc) or energy weapons (blasters, turbolasers, etc).
And seeing as Star Wars doesn't have transporter/teleporter tech, there's no saying that their Ray and Particle Shields could block a transporter signal.

shields in both sw and St is a misnomer. BOTH settings have Particle shielding AND matter deflectors.
in tos st when kirk et al encounter the tholians we see them get even better deflectors from the mirror universe Connie class (from the future) with some wierd hand wave metal that projects a solid shell around the ship when the device is powered.
If you look at any of the 'technical' diagrams from any of the star wars books you can find separate devices labelled shield and deflector projector/generator.
Sci Fi writers are just lazy dumb asses half the time so they treat the language interchangeably
