Time splitters is better
Donkey Kong Country 2 is literal perfection, and objectively the best 2D platformer of all time. Really though, almost every game Rare made up to M$'s buyout was fantastic.

What was the appeal of Rare anyway? By the looks of it they just ripped off what Nintendo was doing.
Conkers is pretty fucking fantastic, even if other games have more varied gameplay. The whole package, the graphics, the movie references, the dialogue, the jokes, is just impressive.But its perfect dark

Retro is too slow. Part of what made Rare legendary was how fast they could crank out quality games because the Stampers were apparently slave drivers.
I think they released like 11 N64 games.

I've been playing Conker's Pocket Tales and it just makes me wish they went through with finishing Twelve Tales: Conker 64.

Playing it again recently, the Barn chapter is the only chapter that really stands out. It captures the essence of the "happy platformer" parody while still sticking to its own varied devices. The edgy humor also never got funnier than the pitchfork committing suicide.
