Agreed. I absolutely loved Transistor, I must have played it 3 times and was having a blaster. I bought Bastion to have something to play until DS3 comes out and everyone has been saying it's way better than Transistor but fuck that. I didn't even finish Bastion yet.

It really is. Loved everything about Bastion, couldn't even be arsed to finish Transistor.
It felt way too restrictive. For some reason I didn't have that problem with Bastion. I guess because Bastion was level-based and Transistor was just a continuous linear journey (with only the occasional interruption). Also the lack of bosses was disappointing, having two villains commit suicide was a cop-out and was probably because the devs ran out of time/money. Late-game enemy variety was also rather sparse, pretty much just Man, who's not especially interesting.
Also the death system was kind of dumb. Instead of dying straight away, the game just cripples you by removing a move. Made things simultaneously annoying and easy. I'd rather just die and be forced to get good.
No shit. The game is like 2 hours long, has 2 bosses, and the gameplay gets stale before you can finish the game. The soundtrack was fine and it looked great, but I'm glad I pirated it.
Bastion is SHIT.

I played 20 minutes of it before stopping. I just could not get a feel for the combat style, it just felt wrong. I just instinctively want to roll around and shit in real time just like Bastion.

Its only like 4 hours long and you can set it up to never go into tactical mode outside of possibly the final boss fight. If you're between games at the moment its worth a shot
Disappointed by both games. Think Transistor has more potential though.
