If we ignore the release dates and technical advancement and only look at what was the game like at launch, then I would say either SA or IV. SA was an amazing game no doubt, but IV was extremely adavanced technically and had an awesome protagonist. GTA V just combined IV and SA.

Driving in the country was legitimately satisfying. That was the thing I was hyped for most in GTAV after seeing the map, but it ended up being a bunch of boring fucking hills taking up half the map with no interesting roads.
The canyons and dirt tracks all around GTA:SA are so fucking perfect, but they managed to suck all the charm out of it in GTAV

That first time you get dumped out in Angel Pine, completely out of element, in the middle of nowhere. That was when the game stopped being a GTA, an became an adveture. Just driving through the countryside trying to find your way home. The world felt massive.

No, it's just your nostalgia goggle that make you love GTA SA. GTA SA isn't better than GTA 4 or GTA 5. Why? Too many thing. Graphic, gameplay, control, AI, Hitbox, Gunplay, Driving, Missions, Side activities. The only thing missing from gta sa are,eating and doing sport (also more interior but they were mostly the same soo..) with "girlfriend" but they just sucked. Customization isnt better than V. You can't deny it with solid proof people. IV and V are better than SA. SA is a good game but it can't be better than its younger game : IV and V even technically.

Driving in GTA 4 sucked. SUCKED!
It's a game, not real life, it feels good to be controlling a vehicle very easily and to make very easy drift. I'm tired of the "Realistic" memes, i just wanna play you know, why driving should be hard on a GTA games? I'm not a casual, really, but everytime everyone have to bring the "Realistic" tag on a game, we don't care if it's fun. If they try to rebring the old driving mechanic you would yell against it, once again..
