The cash shop in the game is simply inexcusable. You may try to defend it by saying there is "no monthly fee" or that "you don't have to use it" however there comes a time where the player base has to stand against shitty practice. Anything from 30$ costumes to fucking RANDOM dyes (which they removed the silver shop from) and not forgetting the 250$ spending spree for pet breeding should have happened that way.

I'm 50 and I'm doing great for my level just by doing daily boss scrolls with my guild while I AFK fish in the night. PVP isn't as fucked as you claim it is, because the smart PVP players get resistance gems/equips to prevent getting grabbed or knocked down. Ranger and Wizard are strong, yes. That's why they have their own sets of weaknesses. Karma is getting revamped once Valencia hits, which shouldn't be far out as Daum wants the game fully up to date by summer. You're definitely right that the pop in is shit, but it's not all tied to your vision stat. It has to do with the engine being crappy.
And finally, Open World PVP is still alive. But its confined itself to the highest level mob areas where people are still training up to 55+. As far as I know people are joining guilds or training in parties to try and grind safely in the new areas. Let's not forget that guy destroying people's boats out at sea.

Housing is instanced, open world pvp is active at the highest tier mob spots, most pvp comes from guild wars until we get the patch that fixes the karma system. Node wars lets guilds control places like towns and tax people who own property on said places.

The higher levels of the game is pretty involved in world pvp. Groups fight over grinding spots and there is also a lot of gvg stuff going on. Castle sieges will be added soon which lets guilds fight for resources and territory. All open world.
There aren't any factions per say, but guilds pretty much fill in that role.
Housing is pretty good. Houses are bought not with silver but investment points that you can use and reuse for property. You buy actual buildings in the towns which you or any other player can visit. Houses are instanced, so each players gets their own instanced version of the building they invested in.

i hit level 50 and now i dont know what to do, same with any mmo
a really big minus from me is that armor doesnt change appearance and you have to buy the 20$ costume to differentiate from anyone.
after 100 hours it feels like nothing has changed, you get more skills as you go to different places to grind and there arent even numbers that get bigger, as you level the new monsters die easier and then you go to the next spot until you hit level 50 and then you level really slowly.
the game encourages afking which is weird and boring, making leveling skills go faster instead of letting people have their computer on 24/7 wouldve been a better way to handle it imo.

nodes are confusing and going around the map to get them is aids, at least having some sort of fast travel between cities wouldve been really nice.
energy feels like a facebook game and discourages people from doing what they want.
contribution though encourages you to go around and quest and explore to find more stuff so thats pretty cool.
also storyline and lore is uninteresting.
i dont like it very much and will probably play a little this weekend because of xp boost.
overall i would probably not have bought it if i had a weeks demo to play, it was really underwhelming.
