The only people who still play runescape are the people who were kids when it was popular, and only play because it's familiar and nostalgic.
OP here i just started playing osrs (rs at all) and i personally find it more interesting than rs3

It's fun, I don't play much because I don't have the time to sink into it like I did when I was a kid. I'd probably put it over actual priorities if I had friends to play with, but now it's just 4chan/reddit/online clan chats and they're either filled with right wing faggots or left wing faggots and nobody just is anymore.

I'm enjoying it. The only downside is the terrible community, and if you have a clan to play with it's fun. I'm hype for the battle royale gamemode and raids coming end of summer

Honestly, it's just a much more full game with a lot more to do. It removes some of the tediousness, which makes it more fun, the combat system is finally functional and how it should be (as opposed to when they first updated), and it's got way more quests and bosses, which were my favorite part anyways.

RS3 is literally Jagex's attempt to make people see runescape as an actual game, and not a browser based time sink.
The NXT client is gonna be great, and the dmm tournemant alone increased the total amount of paying members in osrs to those higher than ever before.

Does anyone actually use the native client to play osrs?
I honestly don't see the point of playing anymore. All my in-game friends are gone and got over the game, I'm still poor as shit, and I don't even have a membership.
For me it's a new experience because I didn't fully experience members' content years ago. Currently playing dmm seasonal, because it makes you approach goals in a different way. Got blitz and finally started stomping some skillers.
I would rather play on private servers than osrs. They keep making everything easy.

Online communities. It's hard to just straight up make friends in game, everybody is either solo'd out or already part of a group
