What vidya execution move does it just right for you, /v/?

Not really executions, but Heat actions in Yakuza games always feel great.
>>333609352
I think it qualifies since you're basically performing a controlled move which ends with you killing your enemy.
>>333608139
>mfw going for another playthrough right now
>mfw the camera is so fucking close to his shoulder and the controls are utter shit
Fuck, i don't remember being this bad.
>>333609497
played it 4 months ago, I always felt like the camera part added to the spook factor
>>333609786
camera, and tedious controls ALLWAYS adds spook factor for me.. just look at RE4 with controls, and RE4 with wiimote.. with wiimote it's fucking rambo mode, fucking 100% accuracy
The Punisher game from 2005 has a shitload of great execution scenes, but I never really understood why they detracted points for doing them.
The counter kill in AC1 where you kill a guys knee out backwards.
>>333610730
Then tuck his head under your arm and snap it up?
Say what you want about AC games they have had some awesome counter kills here and there. I was a big fan of the AC3 tomahawk.
Talking AC1 though I liked the short blade kills. Quick slash to the throat and let the guy drop forward, two handed spike into the top of the head and watch the guy rangdoll, prison shank style multi-stab.
>>333610851
But.. you're the one getting executed, anon.
I am torn.
I don't mind a bit of button mashing with a controller but fuck doing that with a keyboard
>>333611127
The games got too extravagant in their kill animations as the series went on.
Especially in Revelation where Ezio, who is in his 60's IIRC, holding people up with one arm and shit
>>333611184
But it still looks incredible.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6ZHma15raI
>>333611127
Nah, In 1 he just broke the knee and moved on.
>>333611301
I'd argue that its counterpart looks even better.
I like finishers which affect enemies or the world around you without them being part of the coreography between you and the other NPC.
Or the ones where standing next to a wall or ledge gives you a different animation for the same move.
>>333611227
There's not much difference, since you're always mashing just one button in these sorts of QTEs.
>>333611736
>wall/ledge animation
The only game I recall having this is Deus Ex: HR, do you have any other examples?
>>333611998
AC Unity and Syndiate has them.
They look pretty fucking awful though.
>>333611736
You mean like in the Last of Us?
>>333611736
>that NPC just casually walking past
IMMERSION
>>333611998
Prince of Persia Sands of Time had a few attacks you could do by running up and jumping off walls, a really OP one put down the toughest enemies in the game in one hit and could penetrate through multiple enemies
>>333612402
OP's webm cuts out the part where she gets down and sucks Geralt's cock because she got so turned on.
>>333612402
>oh, a bita merder this mornin' I betta walk away
>oh, seems the witchman's slayed 'em all
>Will he rid me of this awful child if I let 'im poke me for a while?
DEAD SPACE 1 / 2 REMASTERED WHEN?????
>>333613149
The game still holds up well in almost every department apart from most characters' facial features and some flat textures here and there.
>>333613338
>facial features.
Fuck off m8, the video com things look fucking fantastic.
>>333613338
I recently started replaying with a bunch of extra graphical options forced through the Nvidia control panel and you're right, the game still looks damn fine especially in 2K
>>333613149
Remasters needed for games that have problems running on current hardware. DS is 7th gen.
>>333610851
PSSHT
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
>>333613519
Dead Space is one of my favorite games, but you have to give criticism where criticism is due.
I don't think the holographic look of the video communications was really a part of the facial features thing I was talking about, though. Don't they pre-render that kind of stuff?
>>333613534
>2K
If we don't stop this shit now it's Full HDâ„¢ all over again
>>333608139
The Warriors for xbox or ps2.
Lots of hand-to-hand fighting and had awesome finishers.
Fuck, I really miss that game
>>333613903
this guy reminded me of isaac
>>333610851
Fuck, I hate shit like that. Which is why I loved >>333611493 so much more
>>333611998
sleeping dog
>>333614169
The arkham series from city onwards as well
>>333613927
good shit
>>333613918
Wait what? Explain to me what's wrong with 2K
>>333614039
There's something slightly off-putting about seeing your own character get dismembered.
I don't know if it counts, but the interrogations in Splinter Cell: Conviction were alright. There was a lot wrong with that game, but I enjoyed seeing Sam go brutal on people in the search for his daughteru.
>>333614840
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVMgqLUr7xU&nohtml5=False&ab_channel=Auroale
this one always got me
>>333608139
The twitcher death scenes were pretty good.
>>333614840
Well, seeing it taken over by a parasite is what scares me
>>333614840
The worst part isn't the leg getting ripped off, but several tons of metal crushing your dick in before it happens.
>>333614840
so DOOMguy is getting strogified like Quake 4 Dude?
>>333615131
Even after watching him drill out the entrails of that guy, they still manage to make me sympathize with the Big Daddy.
Definitely going to play Bioshock 1&2 as soon as they go on sale.
>>333615626
nigger he dead
>>333615685
be sure to grab minerva's den
>>333615626
Not really.
Both of the enemy-inflicted executions shown in Doom 4 have pretty much just been demons beating the shit out of him and tearing a few limbs off in the process.
>>333615097
Knife that guys hand into a stump. Jam a broken flag pole into Kovic's shoulder. Elbow the Maltese guys head into a sink. Push someone onto a flat iron grill.
>>333615867
Any particular reason?
I'm usually not one for buying extra DLC unless they come in a GOTY edition.
What does /v/ think of shadow of mordor? I feel that its fairly repetitive and that the skill trees should've extended farther.
>>333617441
it's fucking great is why
about 3 to 5 hours mini-campaign
>>333617441
It's a good story DLC and is sometimes weirdly hard to purchase.
>>333617681
>>333617584
I'll definitely pick it up in that case, Dishonored taught me how to love branching story DLCs.
>>333617564
Had some great kills, but I regretted getting the faster ground execution perk. The longer ones looked more brutal even if they left you exposed longer. I would have liked them to implement a system where a ground execution on the last remaining enemy is the longer form one.
The "Burtalize" option was cool though. More games need that. When you know the stealth kill is going to reveal you just make a show of it to freak out your opponents. Reminds me of Brutus's dagger in AC brotherhood.
>>333609485
>yakuza
>killing street thugs
>>333610851
>Americans show this in their video games
>But sexuality is haram
Pretty much every execution in Hotline Miami
My favorite one is the throat slit though, it's so fluid.
I liked all of the finishers in RE6. Though I think Helena has my favorites.
The flamethrower-in-mouth execution from The Punisher. Can't find a gif of it though
Not an execution, but I really liked the animation of the fully-upgraded horse hammer thing in alice madness
>sleeping dogs let you just pick people up and throw them at shit for instant kills
>if you throw people at a phone booth wei beats the shit out of them with a phone
>'he's not dead, he'll just eat through a straw for a while'
>>333618129
As long as it's men fucking up men [and monsters] brutally in video games, no one cares.
Feminism, ho!
>>333619070
>put a guy through a AC fan
>He needed to cool off
>>333619128
For the life of me, I can't remember a game that did this well apart from Tomb Raider.
>>333619128
Do we still get comments about completely destroying the women in Mortal Kombat nowadays, or is all the kerfuffle over costumes still (or over them changing the costumes to avoid a kerfuffle)?
>>333619662
Don't the female PC's in the recent Resident Evil games also get pretty fucked up death animations?
>>333619694
I don't know, it's a nonissue to me. Loud and ugly women might force some change here and there while life is comfortable, but it all gets reset as soon as the real world comes crashing in.
Bitches gon' be bitches until they need a man to do something for them, like win wars and build civilization.
>>333619924
Yeah, I misread his statement thinking it was "men and women fucking up monsters in video games", but I don't think the feminists care enough about being represented in the gory FPS genre.
And yeah, to the best of my memory the female PCs do get fucked up pretty hard in the RE series, just like in the new Tomb Raider games.
>>333610851
Playing this the past week. It's less scary and more on the disturbing side.
>>333620448
It's supposed to make you feel uneasy and maybe a little bit scared at times. The segments with the Hunter are when you're really supposed to be shitting your pants, though.
No More Heroes, nothing tops flicking your wrist a bit to chop some fuckhead in half.
>>333619694
This game really needed one-liners or something when kinslaying is afoot
also a PC release that wasn't SHIIIIIT
Some awesome death animations. It's pretty cool seeing your own character die horribly.
I really need to pick up Dead Space again. I only ever rented it when I was younger.
>>333609352
came in here to post Yakuza too. Only my absolute favourite is the bat one, followed closely by the rising headbutt
>>333608139
witcher 3 where the bodies get sliced vertically in half
>>333617904
Knife of Dunwall and BW really are some of the best DLC ever made. I prefer story DLC and those two together actually carried like a sequel to the main game rather than some cheap tacked on missions or cut content packaged and resold.
Most of these

>>333609497
Play with the widescreen fix, you can move the camera as far back as you'd like. I recommend 35 fov.
You don't perform it, but in the Dishonored DLC The Brigmore Witches, if you're high chaos- and beat Corvo in your dream, when you go to finish him, I think Corvo's retaliation and execution on you (he snaps your arm and stabs you) is brilliant.
>>333623141

that bit in shenmue where MC grabs the guys head and knocks them out with the same hand. simply brutal.

>Saejima's fucking clothesline
Fucking satisfying
>>333611736
Do you really think that looks good?
>>333619128
actually such execution moves are only appealing when it's done on women. men on men violence is ugly, violence against women is arousing.
that's why i like brutal takedowns in sleeping dogs, deus ex HR, resident evil 6, asscreed syndicate and skyrim.
>>333623438
loving every laugh
>>333623681
But loli suffering is delicious.
>>333623438
sauce of image?
>>333608139
>>333622914
Both DLCs and the whole game just screamed labor of love, and I think that's what people appreciated the most, since that's become kind of a rarity.
>>333623276
This is what happens if you finish the Brigmore Witches DLC on high chaos, pretty cool as well.
>>333619924
>>333620207
I thought that the death sequences in 5 and 6 were pretty tame compared to 4 and before.
>>333624410
Gorewise absolutely, but the deaths in 5 and 6 are usually way more violent
>>333624379
Corvos mask looks considerably better when he's wearing it
>>333619070
Impale someone on a pile of swordfish heads. Throw a guy into an ice chipper. Beat their head in a door. I also really liked slamming people into the floor on the club level so it broke the glass/lights.
Sleeping dogs was fun as fuck.
>>333624596
His nose is kind of off, and it looks better in all of the Dishonored wallpapers, but it's still pretty cool.
Sleeping Dogs had some pretty fucked up executions like hanging a dude on a meat hook
>>333610234
They should onlypunishyou if they died before they spilled their guts.
A lot of stuff from this.

Arkham Knight has the a very good system. every moves animation will be different depending on where you are, if you attack/counter/takedown/beatdown/knockout smash next to a railing or a wall it'll be different to just normally doing it in a flat open space. Its all different for each character too, which is nice.
>>333624379
Probably true. As a stealth fan and a big classic Thief fan in particular Dishonor just hit all my pressure points, great gameplay, cool setting, interesting story, decent silent protag. When the DLC delivered all that but with a vocal character who you could explore his redemption/or not with was just sublime.
I have to say I'm a little disappointed in the decision to make the sequel about Corvo and Emily. I had been hoping the sequel would be set in one of the other lands. Serrkanos or Tyvia and I'm thrilled that it is rather than a return to Dunwall, but I don't think it needed to be a direct sequel to the first. I would have preferred a new character or two chosen by the outsider and cast into the world with whatever plot...maybe a separatist rebellion or something. I'm still hyped for the game as is, but I think little hints and cameos from the first game would have been a better choice. I don't know if they were scared to do anything other than a direct sequel if so I don't know why. Fans of the first game I don't think would care about the lack of Corvo so long as the game is as good as the previous.
>>333624981
Pressing someone into a tablesaw. Not to mention all those limb breaking moves you could learn. Wei's fighting was a good mix of fast and lethal as well as flashy kung fu.
>>333613149
why the game looks great
Pic related.
>>333626084
A lot of the Warhammer games had a bunch of cool as shit executions, this one was my favorite by far though
>>333609352
>Not really executions
How not?
>>333611736
why are The Witcher armor colors so fucking ugly
The RE4 chainsaw decap is an oldie but a goodie. maybe my favorite even now.
>>333626552
What game is this?
>>333627892
Dawn of War 2.
>>333628059
I got Dawn of War 1 and 2 from the last bundle, is 1 worth going through?
>>333628128
For the campaigns, I'd advise playing through Dawn of War 1 (if only to get the context for some of 2's story), Winter Assault and Dark Crusade if you have patience (it has a tactical map setup and can take many many hours to complete).
They're all excellent games, if a bit dated.
>>333628128
DoW is one of the best rts games made, DoW2 is a squad based tactical game.
If you like rts games, then yes. I'd say both are.
