why do console gamers just accept this? the same games on PC can be had for half that at launch (cdkeys, g2a, etc) if you even feel like paying for it all. also they look nicer and run better.

depends
in classy upscale restaurants, you usually tip
in fast food joints or diners you don't

but no matter where you are, you will NEVER hear a single word about servers blaming or disrespecting customers for not tipping. that just isn't a thing here at all and would be considered absurdly rude, probably get them fired on the spot.

Americans don't tip at fast food places either, but diners and everything greater are fair game.

>>333563773

I have never heard of someone actually say that out loud, but a lot of delivery websites will say something like "The delivery fee is not a tip for the driver, please reward your driver with a tip for outstanding service." or something like that. If you paid via card, there's always a "tip" option underneath your total that you can put whatever you want.

Delivery tipping is retarded. At least with restaurants, the server is constantly checking on you, refreshing drinks, etc. But a driver literally stops by once. All they should need is the delivery fee, if they were actually paid. I never tip a delivery guy more than $3. Usually I just take the total, round up to the nearest dollar, and add $2.

they're bringing food to you, giving you free refills of drinks/salad/bread/etc and they clean the table of dishes when you leave

that's why you don't tip in fast food restaurants, they just hand you the food at the counter and you're expected to throw away your own garbage

Yeah. You usually leave there the few cents of the change, maybe a few € if the service was exceptionally good and the pricetag not inflated already.

I've been to many restaurants that automatically include the tip when you have an overly large party (8+) but otherwise, I guess it's so there's no maximum set? Tipping % varies by person, if it was automatically added on as 15%, some people who might have payed more might be swayed to stick with that number.

There are some places that calculate out how much the bill would be for various tipping percentages for you, which is nice. It doesn't add anything to your total automatically, but it basically says a 15% tip would total to XX.XX, 20% to YY.YY and so on.

>>
I live in the UK, and from what I've heard, the way Americans pay for things is really weird. Apparently the VAT isn't labelled on shop products, and some workers, like delivery drivers and waiters, are paid less than minimum wage, and then get tips from the customers basically paying their wages for the employer.
>>
>>333565008
also they get more shit than anyone in the restaurant even when they're not in the wrong

>>
>>333562997
I don't pay tax on any of my games
>>
>>333564236
Because became a thing way back when for restaurant owners to pay servers less because they're cheap bastards. They used tips as an excuse to pay them less then cost of living and the practice stuck making tipping a mandatory practice.
>>
>>333564968
>wait staff are paid below that
afaik the employer is required by law to make up the difference if the tips aren't enough to meet minimum wage
>>
>>333564942
I'm just saying that's the reason people tip waiters and not retail clerks. I never said it was smart to be a waiter and get less than minimum wage and rely on tips. Don't want to tip them, don't. They put a "mandatory tip" on the check and you don't want to pay it, don't.
>>
>>333564835
>>333564968

Yeah no shit, but the only reason employers get away with paying them like shit is because this idea exists.

>>333565008

>>
>>333565164

>>
>>333565098
Yep, it's pretty fucky but if you've lived with it for any time at all you can tell what something is gonna cost without even thinking about it.
And employers are forced to pay their employers what they would have made if they were working minimum wage if they didn't make enough from tips.

But yeah, 'Merica is pretty weird when it comes to stuff that shouldn't be this retarded.
>>
>>333565275

>>
>>333565098
>the tax isn't labelled on shop products
What the actual fuck? Why not? To make products look cheaper than they are?
>>
tipping is such a fucking scam. Although it's worth noting that in america, if a tipped worker is making less than minimum wage, their boss has to make up the difference if their tips don't add up with their salary to equal minimum wage. A lot of career servers get really shitty attitudes about it too, it's no longer "working better to get a better tip" it's "if you don't give me 20% you don't even deserve my bare minimum effort." The industry tries to pitch it as the server being a "salesman" but one look into it reveals that as utter bullshit, if they were salesmen they would receive a commission on all the food they sell, but nooooooooo that would bakrupt the restaurant. Well if a restaurant can't operate without paying their staff a full wage then it shouldn't fucking be open.

Because for years, restaurants in the States have gotten away with a system wherein they pay their servers a wage below the federally lawful minimum, under the justification that one makes tips that make up the difference.

However, thanks to the fact that this is ingrained in American culture now, if you're a decent server and don't get a bunch of asshole tables, you can make decent money (for the job type)

Tipping is typically only at non-fast-food restaurants and for food delivery drivers if they were timely or drove in dangerous/highly unfavorable conditions to get you your food. Most other workers will look at you like you're crazy if you try to tip them.

I've heard horror stories of servers taking care of a huge, needy, messy party of church goers, only to receive religious pamphlets as a tip.

>>333564553
This is bullshit because you tip after eating. You get spit in your food if you're a total cunt or if you're a regular customer who always shafts your servers. In either case, you still need a server angry and ballsy enough to mess with your food and you totally have it voming to you if you're dumb enough to "shit where you eat."

despite being a partner with gmg, they refused to provide keys to gmg because they wanted to promote their gog platform.

gmg has a business to run, and if they can't provide TW3 keys, their customers will look elsewhere. gmg can't afford to lose clients like that, so they bought up as many official keys as they could and sold them cheaper than anywhere else(and gmg ate up the loss) so that they wouldn't lose clients.

GMG is official and entirely trustworthy, and were partnered with CDPR before the TW3 shit happened. CDPR were the ones playing unfair.
