P1 - bland
P2 - Great
P3 - edgy unlikable bitches (with unnecessary characters like Koromaru, Ken, Shinjiro, etc. that aren't fleshed out at all)
P4 - Entertaining, memorable and actually fun cast with better antagonists (although too mainstream for 4chan SMT hipsters)

My favorite is 3
worst is 4, they aren't bad, it's just that it feels like theres only 3 real characters, Adachi, Dojima, and Nanako. 4 has a good overall tone telling you to not be a fucking friendless loser like adachi, but everyone missed the point.
Chie and Naotos stories didn't go anywhere, they both became more lady which killed the whole tone of their story, which was to just be yourself
Yukikos story was useless
Yosukes is okay
Kanji is probably the most well written party member

It's kinda cool how Yu and Adachi are pretty much the same person, only difference being Adachi ran from the truth and Yu went looking for it.

I'm the second anon you quoted, and i'm not that other guy. Kanji and Maya are my favorite persona characters.
I do think that P3's characters are pretty bland aside from Junpei and Yukari, and Aigis too I guess because they are the only ones that get some meaningful growth in their story arcs, and even then I'm not a terribly big fan or Yukari's character. The rest are kinda cool but still kinda bland (Akihiko and Mitsuru), a plot device and show up for too short a time to get attached to them (Shinji), or a literal dog.

Persona 3 took it self way to seriously,and was just plane boring in general.The party barely got along,and everyone just seemed to hate or didn't care for each other.

That was kind of the point. None of them really knew each other, aside from Mitsuru, Shinjiro and Akihiko, and to a lesser extent Yukari and Junpei, but that was only in class.
It's only until late in the game that they become more friendly to each other.
