Your example do not make sense to me. As a child I had trouble with the Russian R which is fairly unique actually imho. After learning the German R which is a lot simpler I was able to take another step and then properly pronounce the Russian R. Old people who learn languages late will often keep a horrible accent but that is not the language's fault it will happen to almost anyone and with every single language.
I have never heard saying a German squirrel, except for those who do not have an accent. Sry cannot follow you. I am not a linguist either but having a few courses on it in university and from what I remember it was influenced by Germanic and Roman languages and eventually had a great vowel shift. I would have to study another 190 or so languages to make sure that no single sound in English is unique or ask a specialist, I doubt anyone can be 100% sure on this just by using common sense.
From what I gathered, Bonehead was super asshurt because his country was put into a tug of war match between different countries and he was forced to learn different languages and not speak Hungarian. He then saw how English, while the amount of native speakers were low, was becoming the Lingua Franca of the world and slowly eliminating other languages. He wanted to make the native English speakers suffer the same fate he did, so he developed the Vocal Chord Parasites and developed a way to communicate that everyone could understand: cheap nuclear retaliation. He basically wanted to unite the world using MAD instead of eliminating a culture, like he thought English would do.
This plan falls apart when you consider Russia though.

Setting up a tutorial section in what is meant to be a high-pressure, high-stakes situation was a poor idea. Tutorials by nature need to facilitate a player exploring, testing shit out and making mistakes without a great degree of consequence. Escaping from hospital under siege while heavily injured is not one of those scenarios

I'll compare it the reboot of the DMC franchise.
Dante was living all these things in the 3 first games.
But then, they decided to change completly the MC.
The game was good but the MC and the setting completly ruined it as a DMC game.
Well MGS5 is good in terms of gameplay (repetitive yes, but I like it the way it is) but the setting is ruined because we're not playing as the real Big Boss.

This is the best summary I've found on the story. It's a "good motive" kinda villain. But as always Big Boss or V if you want is just following Miller and Ocelot.
Every MGS starring Big boss or Raiden shows how easy they get manipulated and just make the villain motive more interesting.

I can't believe how much Kojima dissapointed me with this concept. The emphasis on language as a means of control and experiencing reality could have been new territory for video games to tread, just like MGS2 and the memes it followed and subverted. Like he makes so many references to 1984 and Orwell, and he could have taken it in such intelligent territory, like Wittgenstein, exploring the relationship between language and how we perceive and understand reality through it.
He literally goes with the dumbest possible route. Its not even just the parasites, its the whole "subconscious word triggers", its like it misses the whole context and importance of language in shaping peoples understanding.
And what makes me so mad is that all of the trailers were so masterfully made that it got my hopes up for something intelligent
The game would have been 10x better if Big Boss said more than 5 minutes of dialog the entire game. Dude couldn't keep his mouth shut in the previous games and in this one he is almost completely silent. It's especially noticeable in fucking cutscenes where everyone's talking to him and he just stands there with a Special Needs look on his face and they keep talking, pretending he responded.

The Boss' mission was to die and let Snake win. She was barely putting up a fight.

They were all letting him win. They put up enough of a fight to make it look like they were trying but had no intention of actually beating him.
Gameplay mechanics aside, nothing in Snake Eater was thanks to Snake. Everything was planned and prepared to go exactly the way it did and he was just along for the ride.
