so /v/. I'm looking to update my monitor game.
I'm looking for a 24 inch 144Hz Freesync monitor and I'm stuck picking between a couple.
Theres the Nixeus Vue, which has good reviews but i cant find a recent in depth review of its quality.
Then theres the AOC G2460pf. I was looking at this one for a while because I thought it was my only other option. Some reviews say it has issues with ghosting.
Finally, theres the ViewSonic XG2401. I cant find any in depth reviews of this one but the amazon reviews are pretty good I guess. I dont like the aesthetic of this one as much though.
So basically, anyone who owns one of these monitors or who has suggestions for what to buy, I would appreciate some opinions.
Also, whats your experience with "reverse ghosting" on TN panels? I'm coming from a 21.5 inch 60hz old samsung so i wouldnt know. Thanks.
>>
i just got a refurb tn gsync from dell for $300

i can definitely see the ghosting but it's not too bad

just get some cheap shit imo until a better panel tech comes out (not ips)

Alright dude, thanks. The ghosting doesnt bother you at all? doesnt effect your ability?

>ability
i only really notice the ghosting trails in super high contrast situations (like quickly moving camera of dark object against bright sky)

Do yourself a favor and don't assume high refresh means no ghosting though.

Also, "reverse ghosting" if it's what I think your thinking it is, is called RTC overshoot.

Just get a Lightboost monitor. TN panels have shit colors, unfortunately and for some reason we stopped using the superior CRT screens and it's just now that monitors are starting to catch up to what they can display.

I'm sorta on a budget. Would a CRT tv be the same as a lightboost monitor then? Also, doesnt the strobing make people sick?
>>

wouldnt 144hz with freesync reduce motion blur enough?
>>
>>333451371
I have the Nixeus Vue, been using it as my main gaming monitor for a little over six months. I'd recommend it. If your PC can push 144 fps it's worth it and variable refresh rate is legit the best display improvement in a long time. no tearing is huge. Picture quality is fine, nothing amazing but not bad by any means. 3 year warranty I believe.

also gsync has forced vsync and freesync lets you choose between on or off, it's nice, just super fucking smooth with zero input lag.

just make sure yo use fullscreen mode only, windowed doesn't work with it.

cool, thanks man. This lightboost stuff seems interesting so now i think ive gotta decide between that and 144hz freesync.
