JRPGs in general have lost some market appeal as hunting games have become the dominant genre in Japan, and it probably didn't help them when that global censorship news came out a week before release.

8th gen consoles are struggling in Japan and the PS3 version was delayed.
SO5 is better than The Last Hope, but don't expect it to be on the same scale as 3 or 4. There are some obvious budget issues here.
