It's too big for you.
>>
I'd play it if it was on Windows 7.
>>
I'm still tempted to pick it up. I don't have a third person shooter for the Xbone yet, unless you count GTA which I don't.

But, I know it would only be fun for a week, and then I'd be on to Dark Souls 3 until FFXV comes out, so really no point.

Bad release timing, I don't know why they postponed it to have it compete with Dark Souls, different audience targeting maybe, but I considered myself as a Max Payne 1 & 2 fan to be part of their target audience, yet it's on a back burner of new games to consider, along with Battlefront.
>>
>>333387626
Follow up, had this been released a month or two ago when I was dry as fuck on games, and jumping between Rainbow Six Siege and that free Pinball game with only one table, it would've been an easy pickup for me.

I'm 2/3 of the way through watching this and so far it's been half combat and half following an NPC while he/she explains the plot. I find the live-action segments a drag to watch due to the other characters it focuses on (not the playable character).

I'm mostly enjoying for the Alan Wake references.
>>
I'm playing it on Xbox One, it's okay.

Wanted to buy it, but heard that it runs like shit and not great enough overall to justify it's price.

Apparently i have to install the windows november update, but windows tells me i've got all the latest updates. Also it's so fucking expensive, i don't mind paying for games but 72 dollars??
>>
>>333388016
Live action characters eventually appear in the game, and some of them are cool. Liam's a fucking badass.
>>
I'm really thinking about buying it.

anybody has anything positive to say? trying to find the good amidst the standard hate from /v/.
>>
>>333389929
It's a Remedy's game. Story is good
>>
>>333389929
The shootouts are relatively fun and the story escalates quickly once it's done introducing everything in act 1 and 2. If you like both Max Payne and Alan Wake, you'll enjoy it, since it's purely a Remedy game through and through. The art design is pretty cool, too.

Go here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Click the "download tool now" at the bottom and run it. It will look as if you're installing W10 from scratch, but you won't lose anything aside from a couple of settings (like which programs you set to open certain files by default, or if you edited the registry at all). It's a rather lengthy process.

I agreed. This game isnot for everyone. Some people think that Quantum Break would be a Gears of War with time powers, but not, is a Remedy game. Narrative is the focus, if you like that, you will love Quantum Break.

WEW LAD.
>>
>>333392106
I dont know about that. Some critics makes no sense. Giant Bomb basically said ''I dont like so fuck off''. But I dont care, Remedy is one of my favorite devs, I like them.
>>
>>333391979
The game looks like shit though anon. Remedy is stupid for trying to make a new ip when all they had to do was make a sequel to Alan wake or max Payne. When they go under I'll be laughing my ass off at those hacks.
>>
>>333392701

They deserve to go under for selling their souls to Microsoft.
>>
>>333392278
I think that can sell on Xbone, but in PC definitely not.
>>
>>333392587
Not really. It's more like microsofts knack.
>>
>>333392701
They didn't make a sequel to AW straight out because Microsoft told them to make something else first instead. So they made QB.

They won't go under, either. Microsoft owns them and they have enough money to not even think about shutting them down.
>>
>IGN score on metacritic: 80

Alan Wake 2 will probably be announced if Quantum Break sell well. There are a ton of things about Alan Wake in Quantum Break.
>>

Remedy isnt 1st party to microsoft though.
>>
>>333392976
But Microsoft funds all their projects, and they pay upfront.
>>
>>333392815
Look at lion head studios though. Microsoft mismanaged those guys and eventually they got fucked up the ass and got shut down. All because Microsoft owns remedy doesn't mean their safe.
>>
I just now finished it. It leaves a few plot holes but a good game overall, not great and certainly not amazing. And the question in the end if it's possible to change the past and future, it's a no obviously. I might replay it one day to change the choice I made. Just maybe

I played it on hard difficulty and fuck... I was stuck fighting on the final boss. What a bitch that was

There's no plotholes in the story, though. At least none I could think of.

Soo What do people think of the price for what the game offers?
>>
>>333386912

It's only out on an operating system and console that I don't own. It will suffer the same fate as Alan Wake. Microsoft shoots itself in the foot by not releasing it on platforms that people actually want to play it on, and they will wonder why it sold so badly. Though I doubt it will ever be released on Windows 7 at a time when nobody cares about it like what happened with Alan Wake.

Remedy is fucked. And it's all Microsoft's fault.
>>
>>333393434
Considering it's $30 on xbone if you game share, that's an okay price for a Remedy game. It has a little replay value, too.
>>
>>333393250
They could've been saved if Microsoft stepped in like they should've and helped them get their shit together. But instead they let lion head run around like a retarted child slinging shit everywhere.
>>
>>333390573
It's $60 here, which is the standard for new retail games.

Remedy games became worse and worse over the year, and this one doesn't even have the great atmosphere that saved Alan Wake.

No. He just didn't log in.

Ahh, fair enough. Blood Omen wasn't really special in the way of plot. It's mostly the lore, world and Kain that are it's merit.

Defiance must have been one long "What the fuck is going on" trip

there's no framerate cap, still runs at arkham knight levels (you don't see the pitchforks since no one bought it on pc and testers have 980s or more).

Nothing official on the resolution, yet some users reported that the image quality is fuzzy even at 1440p, recording it with an external capture card and counting the vertical/horizontal lines shows 1280x720.

The game uses an unorthodox rendering solution (temporal reconstruction from four 720p 4x MSAA frames) so I wouldn't be surprised they did the minimum effort to port it on pc and didn't adapt it for PC configurations.

What alternative had they have? It was obvious Lionhead can't make a good game to save their lives, especially after Mr. Pathological Liar departed.
Make them into tech studio, working on MS engines and ports? Do you really think Lionhead would be satisfied, either way most stuff would be gutted? Or complete corporate restructure? It wouldn't be the same Lionhead.

It's regrettable that people lost their jobs, I played Fable Legends and it was boring, technically impressive though. They had nothing to offer. But it does seem unfair studios like Coalition keeps living and Lionhead is dead.

IMO MS should manage their studios more strictly and better, but Lionhead got what they deserved.
>>
>>333397134
the temporal reconstruction shit sucks, results in tons of ghosting
>>
>>333397134
you can just look at the shadows, no way it's 720p with temporal reconstruction.
It does look hazy, maybe Remedy though it's a good artstyle to go with.

I guess something happened at Remedy post Max Payne 2, because MP1 and 2 were bretty gud, and then their games started to suck. I guess they aren't going to make something as good as Max Payne or better.
>>
>>333386912
I'm a Remedy fan but I'll play it when it's on Steam/GOG.
>>
>>333397274
I really don't understand what they were trying to go for with fable legends. Literally no one was clamoring for a free 2 play multiplayer fable game. It still boggles my mind so hard.

Talk about tragic.

$48 on Amazon prime

I did it because I already wasted a bunch of money buying the Xbone.

Goddamnit Remedy, why you gotta do me like this
>>

you have a pc.

4v1 was all the rage when Legends went into development and to be honest, I'm not against this idea. It's basically simplistic DM Mode.
Execution is the problem. It was boring, with Skill trees like "extra item slot slot at level 10", "can equip rare armour at level 15", "extra skill slot at level 20", "can equip Legendary armour at level 30" with boring, shallow combat(hit enemies 3 times to get orbs, use orbs to make a strong attack; you have a sword and a shield, 3 skills like Taunt, Wall, etc and no combos, mash tat button, block dem arrows, no just guard in default as well) and pretty half-arsed Villain mode, which I actually didn't play, because I had no one to play with and then they locked it behind a 6 mission requirement.
>>
>>333397908
People have found memories about MP2, but this game bombed hard, Remedy had 3rd game in plans already, but MP2 almost sunk them, they had to make a deal with MS and sell their rights to Rockstart just to say afloat.

I haven't played QB, but most reviewers say gameplay is really-really good, but there's not enough of it, you spend half of your time reading e-mails and watching cutscenes.
>>
>>333400830
What I heard about the gameplay was that basically you have cool powers but there's no thought put into how you can combine them and such, so ultimately you just kinda end up repeating the same thing each fight.
>>
If I had an Xbone I'd be all over this game. I ain't about to update to Windows 10
>>
>>333401180
I heard the opposite. You have a lot of options with how to engage with opponents. I don't think you can combine powers in the sense of Fire+Water=Steam or something.

Basically it reminds me of Vanquish situation where some people said it's a boring cover shooter, because they didn't rocketslided anywhere. I won't be sure until I play it and it won't be too soon.
>>
I'd play it if it wasn't $60 in my terrible shithole eastern european country. I predict it'll sell about 3 copies here like with this pricing.

Then I'm not surprised, I don't see why they should give a shit about our market.

They say this about any big release. But the gun sounds and recoil seem pretty nice, but from videos, the game doesn't seem to be doing anything amazing, and from the reports of people saying the amount of cutscenes/exposition overshadows Max Payne 3, that sounds like a major dealbreaker.
>>
>>333397908
They attatched themselves to Microsoft at the hip is what happened. Both Alan Wake and QB were funded by Microsoft and so are subject to their retarded whims, which now include DX12, Windows 10, and Windows Store exclusive. I don't know if Microsoft owns them or not but if they don't then I'm sure there are plenty of other publishers willing to give Remedy money.

windows driver foundation using 100% of your CPU while doing nothing
>>
I want it, but with so many other games out in the next few months, it has to wait until it's cheaper because it's only 8-10 hours long. Definitely flopping though.
>>
>>333386912
Game is fun, TV show is pretty solid, and the story is interesting. Really enjoying it so far.
>>
>>333401757
Some people experience bugs. My sister's laptop sits at 100% disc usage in first 5 minutes of boot time. It's also super slow at the start.

There was a problem with TVs, if system went into sleep mode for like 10 minutes with TV connected through HDMI, system won't play any sounds through TV.

Counter-intuitive installing drivers might actually spoil your experience, aside from Video Drivers, some drivers Windows gets by default work better. But sometimes they're broken and 2 or 3 month back option to opt out of driver updates was broken. I haven't checked.

There is not fundamental reason no to use 10. If you use Windows you might as well use 10, you have to trust MS either way. But OS is not polished. And with new release model it might become a problem.

Xbone finally has its own The Order 1886. Damn shame Remedy will be shut down over it though. At least they didn't try and release it the same day as Uncharted 4 though, that would have just been hysterical.

This is more like ISS. Xbone already had its The Order with Ryse.
