You'd honestly have to be a retard to buy into VR in it's current state at all. I'll be laughing all the way to the bank at the inevitable butthurt from the early adopters.
>>

>>
>>333379541
Can't say I'm surprised. This is the information age after all, and the goverment wants to know everything about everyone. what's the most popular form of entertainment again? Yeah.

The kinect was a test run and it worked beautifully.. the VR will work even better. I would be surprised if they upgrade it to read your brainwaves through your corneas, maybe they'll influence them too.

But that's ridiculous. If there is no early interest, there will never be a product worth buying. Imagine if vidya had died in the Arcade and home consoles never took off because they were so expensive.

It'd be a damn shame, jimmy.

No, I fucking didn't as, even though ut works quite well and looks cool, it's actually pretty bad for videogames.

No shit, it's a facebook company.

I don't see what they're trying to achieve with this fearmongering. There's plenty of other things to do with a TV than subscribe to network television. Britfags let me know if there's anything else that licensing fee goes to than funding the BBC or whatever other shit I may or may not have read when you were asked before.

Honestly, they can't expect to extort a fee out of someone for merely owning a piece of electronics that doesn't impact whatever it is they're trying to protect, or fund, or whatever the fuck.

And I argue that it is the duty and the responsibility of the consumers (whose purchasing power transfers into becoming a company's liquid mobility) responsibility to prevent the financial endorsement and then implementation of infrastructure which has the potential to harm them long before it starts. Agencies don't go away because of a petition. They can have their development impeded every step of the way (especially something like this which is entrepreneurial rather than like bureaucratic), but once it's there, it's not going away, and only then can be manipulated to do achieve an end Not Originally Advertised(tm).

Something something about something not being illegal while you do it now, but it can be illegal later. Something something about grandfathering criminal offenses. Something something about a permanent digital data farm, something about them only needing a reason for you to be a target to bring up your file and have you tried for what you did fifty years ago. Or something.

People can pretend all day as though paranoia is retarded but it literally a survival instinct. Of course, it's hard for a retard to ever consider anything outside of the scope of your life as you know it in this era right now, but a short few hundred years ago; and for thousands of years before that; paranoia would literally have meant your survival, for you must ask the question when it was unlikely for this many people to be crammed this close together and forced to put up with each other: the nearest town, village, settlement, is not for hundreds of miles in all directions, is it wise to trust the snake oil that this vagrant is peddling?

But of course it's LITERALLY 2-0-1-6 and of you're paranoid it's because you're a lunatic. How long ago was it patriotic to question your authorities? And a stark few decades later it's apparently treasonous, tin-foil, ad hom, "must have something to hide!" tier horseshit.

People are right to be suspicious. About literally everything and anything that they want to be. Your primary prerogative is self-preservation, first. And when something has the overarching potential to be utilized in a way that infringes on what you feel are your territories (and apparently privacy is now, scarily, approaching the territory of "antiquated" or "unnecessary"), you are left to ask if they person whose hands this falls into is willing to step over those lines, or do they have the good will not to? Unfortunately a business is not a person, and it does not have your subjectively defined "good will" on its agenda.

We do in Norway. You can get around that by sending a letter requesting that they disable the relevant ports on your TV permanently, and just hope that they don't bother showing up for the actual work involved.
Never heard about the police getting warrants, but they will apparently sneak around your house trying to catch you using the TV.

State owned television and the radio shows about culture is superior to the commercial channels here anyways so I ain't complaining.

We currently force full-minded people to do repetitive, mindless tasks a machine could replace, largely because we haven't gotten around to replacing them with machines
A decent number of those people hate their jobs and mostly just cope with their shitty existence through mass media and personal connections

Epsilons probably wouldn't even be necessary now that we have machines to do gruntwork anyway

How often does it do this? Under what context? Registration? Connection to the Rift Store? When you connect the device? Always?

That picture doesn't explain anything other than, one time at some point, the OVRServer_x64.exe connects to Facebook servers a few times in under a minute.

TV Licensing pays for the BBC, which is why it runs without ads. The especially fucked thing is even if you don't have a TV connected to an aerial/whatever theoretically you should still pay TV Licensing.

it's a huge meme. as long as you don't go to the bad parts of london or birmingham you won't get attacked for not being brown, and if you don't go to bradford or london you will barely notice that other races exist. the 'uk is becoming less white' meme is true to an extent, but we still have a huge white population, there's entire towns that are just white still

Steam Terms are pretty good.

They don't share any information with anyone other than what's required to complete a purchase, and they don't claim any rights over creative content on the Steam Workshop aside from making changes for the sake of compatibility, or distribution, . They also revoke all rights if the content creator ever removes it from the workshop. unlike Rift which, once it's on their servers, their rights are "irrevocable, perpetual, and transferable

They don't even have the bog-standard "we reserve the right to suspend or delete your account for any reason we decide" bullshit that most terms of services have.
>>
>>333386645

There's an "Open Source Virtual Reality" standard that Razr's trying to push which Valve supports.

There are some games exclusive to Rift that the Vive won't be able to play without some sort of hack, and maybe the other way around but I don't know about that.
