What does /v/ think of this game?
Floaty combat, braindead AI, bad art direction. RNG-centric. I never got what people saw in this game.

The classic is a classic. The remake is annoying as fuck to play now, but used to be great.
It's one of the most played games on my steam account.
It's super addictive; it offers a nice amount of challenge, and thank's to the rogue-like aspects it stays fresh.

I enjoy watching let's plays of it because people who do play TBOI typically upload at least an hour of video per day and it gives my lunch breaks a nice white noise. Never played it before but recognize most the items and synergies, which I'm a little ashamed to admit but whatever

Did every route on hard mode with the no perma-health blue guy, now repeating that with everyone else feels like a chore
Also I still don't know where these hitboxes are so I can't really say the game works

I'll honestly never get the hype for this game. Its one of the most slow paced and boring games I've played and it doesn't help that RNG is an enormous factor in the enjoyment of it.
Fun the first couple of times. But no semblance of balance and grinding for good runs gets old fast.
I'd rather play Zelah 1 over this pale imitation though.
It's fun if you play it casually after downloading a 100%'d save file, grinding out all the unlockables yourself is a fucking chore.

Agreed. It's just easy to pick up and play and once in a while you get a fucking dope synergy that you've never seen before that helps keep you addicted to the game.

Fucking great game, both the original and the rebirth before the DLC. Man I hate the DLC, I stopped playing some time after it was released.
I like picking it up to play it for an hour and then suddenly it's 4 hours later.
It's pretty solid, the art looks nice, you can get fucked over by RNG which means restarts which can be frustrating, it can be interesting to delve a bit into the meaning behind it and the themes of self-hatred, I haven't played it in a little while but have 2 1001% completed files because I had no life for a while, yep.
