You're forgetting that a lot of warrior cards get benefits for being damaged, which are the cards that people using this card would be running.
So it's more like a 2 card version of echo that makes your dudes better on top of its normal function.

That being said you could probably get this from that priest use all your mana to summon a minion spell.

You can't.
It's literally impossible to obtain except via the Blood of the Ancient One's effect. Just like, for example, Blingtron doesn't give you Ashbringer ever. Uncollectible cards do not appear in the listings of cards that give you random cards.
Why does it seem like every epic in this set is garbage? Oh well, at least shaman is finally getting suppoerted. Really like that druid card spoiled today too

The game plan would just be getting your opponent to play their hard removals, or if your opponent knows you have it, it would technically protect another target from hard removal.
