It largely depends on how you play, I feel too many try to beat ALL the side-missions, just bevause they're there, when that's a really dull and largely repetitive way to play, it's great for playing affinity missions and the story missions, not so much the lower-quality basic and normal missions.

Not that anon, but open world games are lazy in their level design. They don't need to make clever, fun to explore levels, just make a big, half-empty world and sprinkle in some useless collectibles, enemy camps and you're done.
Open world games can be fun, but right now publishers want open world games because they're easy to market. Just go "a world bigger than Skyrim with 100+h of content to explore", disregarding the quality and variety of said content.
