Good idea. My two year old is obsessed with the iPad, and likes to watch me play games on my Wii U gamepad. I also let her try out Mario Galaxy 2 and she had fun waving the wii-mote around (With the wrist strap on her arm). She still doesn't quite grasp how to play, and gets frustrated easily.

People in this thread saying you can still do this stuff don't understand that times have changed. No it's not just about your friends growing up and getting girlfriends and jobs. It's about the games.
For one, games have largely shifted to purely single player experiences or at least games that are geared towards single player so much that multi is a total afterthought and don't offer much for more than one person. Games are also largely story based and are meant to be experienced when you have a lot of time to sit and listen.
Then there's the sheer volume of games. You go to your friend's place partially because you want to play his games that you don't have or just have a different experience to the one you usually have at home. Now you have all the same games. The games you CAN play together are better played online by design. You get little to nothing in terms of new experience. Also very importantly, your backlog is probably enormous and you have a lot more games you could E playing. You probably also have a main game like Street Fighter, EVE, or Dota that you think about having fun playing instead of spending hours on other things with your friends.
Finally this leaves you with a few games that qualify as good games to play at a friend's place. But what do you do when those games get boring? You're going to make an evening out of playing smash when you play smash, Mario party, and all those other party games every time? Even in the mid 2000s, playing locally wasn't always as fun as playing online.
The games have changed. Your situation has changed. It's not all about your friends growing up. It's about the times and the games.
