Not much, really. They don't actually do much besides milking WoW for all its worth. Maybe the MMORPG scene wouldn't be such a fucking cesspool without it, but beyond that, not much.

WoW kept PC gaming alive during early/mid 7th gen, it was nothing but crappy console ports during that time
