Originally it was an SRPG unveiled at E3 about 11-12 years ago. The main draw was that the game was based on a half-finished script by Akira Kurosawa that his son had completed, and the game was to be released alongside a tie-in film that Kurosawa Jr. was also going to direct. The game was intended to be a PS3 launch title, but it kept getting pushed back further and further, and then the film was officially cancelled not long after. KT also used to comment that it was still in development, but everyone just assumed it'd been cancelled on the sly and its assets reused for other stuff.
However, at TGS last year, the game was officially rerevealed and now looks to be like a mish-mash of Souls and Onimusha (This version has been in development since 2012, apparently). Sadly though, it doesn't look like the game is connected to Kurosawa anymore.

You're missing my point. Consoles and PCs are hardware investments. Consoles no longer offer hardware for gaming at an incredible value compared to an equivalent PC like they did in the past. When you then evaluate the hardware of each platform, you find that PC offers more power and a better value than any of the consoles, and it has the extra advantages of customization, no extra fees for online capabilities beyond an internet bill, and being an overall more vastly versatile tool than any of the consoles.
Take a closer look and see that the consoles are always chasing the heels of what PCs have been accomplishing for years beforehand.

Consoles are dying. They're becoming evermore obviously shoehorned into the market when compared to PC. During the NES/SNES/PSX/N64/PS2/GC/Xbox era, consoles had a clear lead on the value at which a consumer could purchase hardware specifically to play video games compared to bringing up a home PC up to snuff with those consoles. When the PS3/Xbox 360/wii era rolled around, shit was breaking close enough to even; and PC really pulled well ahead for online play.
This latest gen of consoles, outside the wii U (which Nintendo did a decent job of keeping the hardware unique), are literally just shitty pre-built PC rigs being sold based on which exclusive title a consumer wants to play.
That's what keeping up with the latest console gens will mean from now on; it will be the equivalent of purchasing a new pre-built, shitbox PC rig every few years. It's fucking retarded to anyone bothering to take a second glance at the situation. The icing on the cake is that consoles still do online play at a greater expense to the consumer than does PC gaming.
This next decade in tech development and accessibility to the consumer will only shine a brighter light on what's become of consoles; and that's all it will take to kill them.

I'm pretty excited, I always wanted a nip themed souls game. Japanese folklore is a pretty good backdrop for games in general. Onimusha is one of my favorite series and I'm excited to see what a modern day one could be like.
