Typically Pokeballs would fail against capturing non-weakened creatures but my strong fingers kept the contraption tight. It took only 2 shakes before Sonic submitted to my iron grasp. He is mine now. As I let out a smirk and patted myself on the back I sent Sonic out from his new prison cell. "Ey what the fuck man" he said, rubbing his nose which was red from the impact. There have been a few actually. They're not all trash. Three off the top of my head:
1. Pokemon (The Sun Soul) - Was a hyper realistic take on Ash's journey that was pretty brutal and depressing, but well written. No self inserts.
2. Metroid (Pirate Scum) - Short fic that follows a a guy living in the slums just trying to get by and gets wrapped up in space piracy. Very well written. No self-inserts.
3. DBZ (A Good Man) - After being resurrected by the dragon balls after Frieza is defeated the denizens of the galaxy form a police force to apprehend, imprison and sometimes execute the surviving and resurrected minions of Frieza, with Vegeta being their Most Wanted. Very well written with a good balance of action and drama. Gets the characters down well and the original characters are all interesting. Top tier villain.

As another anon said there is nothing wrong inherently with fanfiction. Think of it as attempting to write an episode of your favorite show or a plot to your favorite game. BUT if it is autism you want we can read my Runescape/Avatar crossover.
