They blew literally the first entire year after the KS was funded doing zero development and just going around to indie conferences and shit. The current test build is a mess and they have been flagrantly ignoring some of the fundamental engine bugs and other problems between releases, instead just adding inconsequential bits of polish to distract us. They are already outsourcing the UI design and music, and despite having most of the map ready for years, they said recently that they haven't even begun working on traps and puzzles.

I've played each alpha, the newest one was a drastic improvement in almost every way. Hell you can explore a ton of stuff and finally fight some of the bosses again and even some new bosses.

I was in an incomplete area. Some of the doorways and zone transitions worked in this build, and some didn't. But was able to find that boss that worked, but any area outside of the first has odd lighting still. Beating that boss gets you that key which you can't pickup since picking up isn't in yet, but the game does flag you as having it so it unlocked even more shit. I just can't survive long enough to fully explore everything it lets you access since there's no healing either.
Outside of the first area nothing's really done yet. After a while you can come to some areas that look like this, and others that are 100% placeholder

Depends on them really. Outside of all the zones they still need to do they still need to impliment saving, picking up items, enemy drops, HP on enemies (or at least floating HP damage) and likely everything related to how those function before it's at least fully playable like the original demo was. The last backer build was in january unless I missed an email so its possible they have that stuff working by now. Doubtful but possible.
