Summon Knight Swordcraft Story isn't really "obscure" but I couldn't tell you I ever saw a cartridge of it. I only ever played it/heard of it played on emulators. It was fucking Deepest Crafting and Dueling ARPG

It is obscure since only hardcore rpg fans and GBA maniacs mostly know about it. It didn't helped the fact that it was localized at GBA's end of life and three years after the original, japanese version. It's a miracle that Atlus USA brought the sequel as well.

I don't think this was obscure.
I can vividly recall seeing this on many forums and shelves. It sort of stuck around - at the time of it's release there weren't a lot of SRPG around. I remember it was easier to find this than a copy of Tactics Ogre.
This one got an updated version released for the DS.

The manga kind of abruptly ended with everyone's ass getting kicked in and only barely managing to convince the villain not to kill everything, at least for a while. They are married with a kid in the epilogue though.
