It's a system release game, a mario game and a game that often came packed in with the system.
It's also a 3d game which is the only thing that wowed people about it.
It practically sold itself at the time, but it's a buggy gotta fetch'em all with graphics you could put your eye out on nowadays, and games like banjo and bad fur day did it a hundred times better and looked better.

I could agree with Perfect Dark being arguable. Goldeneye paved the way, but feels very dated by today's standards.
He also didn't add Conker and JFG. While flawed, both were way better thank DK64, and Diddy.
Banjo 1&2 are flawless games though, I agree.
Fag also didn't add Rogue Squadron. Which is easily one of the best games on the 64.
FZero X, Blast Corps, and Turrok are also missing.

I loved every moment of this damn game. Even the retarded mini games. Never realized the pure silliness of the story until years later when I replayed it on an emulator though.
