Graphics have always been one of the most important things about video games.
When most people played video games as children they didn't really care about how good a game looked or how high the fps was.
As a person grows older they become more aware of these things. And now multiplats are more common than ever and most of the time their performance is the only thing that differs between platforms. So people are going to talk about it a lot.
But it's always been like this. People that were in their 20s when the Genesis and SNES were competing with each other would argue about graphics on the predecessor of modern forums.But enough about that, I want to see some more happy boobs.

stable framerate is more important than graphics. what's the point of sexy polygons when the FPS drops when you have a bunch of models on screen. i don't care if your agem runs at 30 or 60 but it better not dip below that number.

Games are extremely mainstream now and most people are morons who can only judge things by the most basic criteria. They're basically the equivalent of people who defend the Transformers movies as "just turn your brain off bro!" "popcorn flicks", ignoring that there are plenty of dumb action movies that are GOOD, therefore revealing they'd enjoy anything that flashes enough colored lights at them.
They're also desperate to justify their expensive console/PC purchase.
I mean, at the end of the day I guess you should just enjoy what you enjoy, but it seems to me like arguing and getting butthurt is the majority of what they do and that doesn't seem like fun. It's just a means to make people feel superior for the hardware they buy, even when the companies don't give a shit about you. A nice looking art style, or game that doesn't make you want to throw up, is always a winner visually to me. I've always been an idort, so maybe that's why I don't care.
