You need to accept that it's a new entry in a new fighting game series. I agree, I also think it is low on content. However, 10 unique characters vs. being like those naruto games where everyone is the same is a better trade off.
It sold pretty well so I'd honestly expect a quick sequel before the end of the Wii U's lifetime rather than DLC but maybe either will happen.
