If no to 1, or yes to 2, no damage occurs. If yes to 1, and no to 2, then damage occurs.

Well, you're right at the beginning from the sounds of it, and DaS2 can be a pretty long game on your first playthrough. You could still easily beat it in 8 days however, but you might burn yourself out on the formula thus making DaS3 not as enjoyable.
