I wonder if they could add this as an accessibility option somewhere in the settings. Seems like it should be too difficult to disregard the touch pad unless another button is being held at the same time or maybe make it a toggle button.

its because 100% of PS4 games work with DS4, but theres no way of guaranteeing a game will work on a DS3 - you'd have to (as a dev) build the support into your game. VitaTV plays games that were made from DS3 and backwards and for remote play uses (essentially) a driver that takes the input it gets from a controller and send it as a DS4 output over the internet back to your console.
Of course a ps4 owner would have severe brain problems.

its not new to support disabled gamers. microsoft has funded tons of different version of the 360 controller for specific disabilities, sonys also done it several times, valve open sourced the design of the steam controller so anyone can make their own shape or layout. its nice when people who work for companies get that its about people playing games regardless of disability, not about 'playing it the way it should be played'low-key taking a dig at the wiiu
