Maybe by some very specific characters. He likes tethering to the ledge with Rope Snake just fine, and the distance covered with PKT2 if he's forced to use it allows him to stall offstage for quite a long time, which hampers edgeguard attempts. It's not as risky to try and intercept as Ness' PKT2, but in some ways is also a lot better as recovery.
Mewtwo is and always has been my favorite "legendary"-level pokemon. I just like to imagine that Mewtwo's PSYCHIC attack is enough to smash any pokemon he's up against, you'd get crushed by Mewtwo's immense psychic powers.

Footstool disable was never really a thing until now. Niggas don't remember when nair used to have like 20 frames of landing lag, it was pretty much never worth using because of that. It got lowered but it was still pretty punishable and now it has very little landing lag to the point where it's probably his best or second best aerial. Fair also had like 18 frames of landing lag before they reduced it to 14.
The patches helped Mewtwo a ton. He used to be slow as fuck, now he's as fast as Sheik. Mobility is one of the BEST things to have in Smash, rarely is a non-mobile character really good. A lot of Abadango's combos came from dtilt into aerials, all of which were fixed in 1.1.3.
Fair's hitbox was moved forward to give it more range and uair's hitbox used to be AWFUL while also having like no knockback. People don't remember how bair's hitbox didn't match the animation at all pre-patch too.

His startup frames are fucking garbage on both his aerials and grounded moves. His jab is trash and his f-tilt takes years to come out.
Both f-air and nair are so slow that you can't use them on reaction. You basically need to predict every time you throw them out making Shulk's spacing game a guessing game.
They also have crap landing lag, (especially b-air) and while MALLC helps to sort this out, it also makes his moves massively telegraphed.
