Doing my second playthrough of this.
I know there's a way to save her, but I don't want to look it up, so is it easy to figure out or do I have to do a bunch of inane bullshit to save her?

There's a lot of shit you gotta do to save Curly. Unless you know what you're doing, it's not gonna be easy. Saving Curly is the biggest factor towards getting the good end, but its not the only one.
If you like, I can give you a hint about the first step. Because trust me, you wouldn't think of doing it was hinted at, which it isn't.

Honestly, apart from the tow rope it's not too bad. The teleporter near Booster stays broken if you talk to him but mentions that a skilled person could fix it. Then there's Booster's journal in the prefab house where he says he'd upgrade the jetpack if he lived long enough. So not unreasonable for someone to think he could repair the teleporter and upgrade the jetpack
Tow rope is bullshit though. There's no justification for why it only spawns if you save Booster
