The Alienware Steam Machine tends to be on sale fairly frequently which can make it a good deal even compared to building a system yourself. Just keep in mind that its really intended for 10 foot use and that the graphics hardware in it is a bit dated at this point and can't be upgraded.

Always account for the implicit cost of building a PC (e.g time + acquring the knowledge on assembling and troubleshooting a gaming PC+ logistical cost) if you could earn more money doing something easier (e.g being a twitch whore) in the same timeframe to offset those implicit requirements then go ahead buy a pre built but the knowledge on how to build a PC still offer great value.
