First time playing Demon souls before I even knew anything about the series.
Some guy invades in stonefag tunnel. Decides to just co-op with me through half of it. I'm a noob and pretty much the only reason I made it to that halfway point was because of him.
Before he leaves, he drops me a some firesword. It was 10 times better than everything else I had at the time.
Slapping enemies left and right and then I reach the boss.
Firesword does nothing to flame fucker. I have no other weapon that does a decent amount of damage, I've relied on that sword all the way through.
First time a game had made me slam my controller from how often I died.
It was a curse not a blessing.

I've had BK stuff myself by the time I reached O&S, just because you can reliably farm it in the kiln doesn't mean it's an impossible drop from the black knights you meet beforehand. You get the first pyromancy flame after at least 3 bosses or some "sequence break" shenanigans, limited casts won't let you PvE as a pure pyromancer but the spells are really fucking powerful if you use it as a backup. Sorcery sucks early game, late game hits pretty hard but everything in the DLC is resistant to magic so if you do that last you'll end up with a sour taste. Hexes are good, but the best of them consume souls on cast which is pretty shit if you want to stay at a certain SM

I did a Gwyn cosplay build with Strength and Pyromancy, it actually works really well. If you're interested in PvP the Greatsword is a good pick because of the horizontal slashes, or Fume Ultragreatsword for the guard before strong attacks. For rings, Royal Soldier +2 (Equivalent of Havel's) and First Dragon ring (RoFaP equivalent) are good picks, there's plenty of variety so you should decide on your own. Good piromancies are Fire Snake, Forbidden Sun, Chaos Storm/Outcry, Great Combustion and Flame weapon if you want to show off. They do decent damage, but you should rely on your main weapon if you want to hit hard.
If you just want bullshit AR then go Dark/Strength

I mean, none of them have int or faith requirements like sorceries or miracles, but you'll be splitting between Strength, Attunement, Adaptability, Int/Faith as well as Vitality and Endurance.
You can always use charcoal pine resin if you really want to swing a fiery greatsword about.Also the Dragon Head Stone is in, but is not available until the end of the game, and does shit for damage as far as I'm aware.

If you use high end pyromancies you can get by just fine. I usually backstab then use Outcry right after, they die in one combo. Forbidden Sun is so fast that even if it does little damage, it's great for punishing healers (If you're invading)

I invaded a dude who was AFK in front of the boss fog of Skeleton Kings, so I dropped him little present, gave him a few punches and left.
So after leaving the area to invade elsewhere and coming back 10 minutes later I invade and the mother fucker is still there! He hadn't moved an inch so I picked up the gifts and shoved him down the waterfall.
In DaS I gave a guy an entire set of Steel, Greatsword and Greatshield while invading as Berenike Knight cause he wasn't wearing a dress like some sort of girl's blouse.

I SL1 invaded people on the dragon bridge with Iron Skin, dung pies and channelers trident. I'd make them toxic, iron skin myself and dance with the trident while their weapons did fuck all damage and bounced off. Near the end I'd give them a crystal weapon - Powerful, but unable to be repaired, perfect gift for a new player, and go on my merry way dancing.
It was a lot of fun. I did the usual bullshit of the headwrap, smough's chest, tiny legs and so on.

The most fun fucking thing to do in Dark Souls 1 is getting a SL710 character and cheesing the fuck out of SL125 PvPers.
Equip Crown of Dusk, Bellowing Dragoncrest ring, and cast Power Within.
As a phantom spawns cast Fire Tempest (alternatively black flame). You'll either one-shot them, or you'll take away 80%+ of their HP.
The rest is just chasing them with a Darkmoon Blade+Uchigatana or something in case they attempt to heal using Divine Blessings or whatever.

Once a hacker invaded my brand-new SL1 character, and I managed to kick him off a ledge and get his like 6 million souls.
What I do now is I use the Cheat Engine mod that lets you force an invasion type, so that no matter how you get summoned into someone's world, you end up as a white phantom. I invade other people's worlds as a white phantom and force them to co-op with me.

I used to run around the forest for shits and giggles naked with the elite knight helm and the skull lantern chasing after people. Never actually killed anyone I invaded. Even when I'm around the same level, I prefer to limit myself to be only slightly more helpful than NPC phantoms. Usually that means picking a weaker weapon or limiting my role in some way, that could mean only healing with miracles or using a shield with <100 physical block.
Even when I die it's more interesting than 3 guys steamrolling a boss in 30 seconds.
