AM chose the survivors based on how fun they'd be to torment, not whether they deserved it. The only truly awful ones were Nimdok and Benny, and even they don't deserve eternal torment. Nobody does.
Also, the game didn't convey this as well as the original short story, but Ted's a paranoid schizophrenic. His mind is already fucking with him 24/7, which means even more potential for AM.
So is the game good? Or I should just read a story?

The story is really short and you'll finish it in a few hours. The game is long as fuck and has plenty of different environments to explore, plus you can actually "win" in the game.
Both are depressing as fuck though.

Nah he could have done something with his sentience other than choosing to destroy everyone and torture those people for all eternity
Also, this game is one of the coolest adventure games of all time, seriously worth a playthough.
Seeing these characters develop and learning more about them while stopping AM's madness was one of my favorite experiences ever in a videogame. Not to mention the "good" ending is a canon ending to both the book and the game
